betteradbcopy - Multi-threaded SCP to/from Android device over USB/WiFi with Termux

Had about 50GB of files to pull off my phone.

adb pull chokes being single threaded, especially with a lot of smaller files.

MTP suffers much of the same fate.

Was pondering solutions when I ran across mscp. This allows for SSH based file copies with parallel instances to speed up transfer significantly.

Combined with Termux, OpenSSH, and adb forward this provides a very fast file copy to and from the phone via USB (Or WiFi)

Transferred those 132,389 files totaling 50GB to my computer...

What is your wish list for Google IO 2024?

While a official date has not been announce let us discuss what we hope gets announce. Let talk hardware and software we hope to see. My first thing I would like to see is when is google going to announce when they are releasing their air tag competitor. I have a few things I would like to keep a eye on. I hope they announce the pixel 8a and hopefully it will be the first android phone that supports Qi2 standard. ...

Google Wallet is rolling out support for importing digital passes saved in Apple's .pkpass format!

One user on Telegram told me that Google Wallet is now able to import .pkpass files for them. This doesn't work for me yet, but several users on Twitter told me it does for them! Let me know if this works for you!

The Pixel Launcher is starting to roll out a new "search engine" settings page

This page lets you change the search provider used for the search bar on the home screen.

One user tells me they received a notification from the Search Engine Selector app to choose their search engine. After changing the search provider, the search bar's icon is updated to reflect the user's choice of provider. The user can go to the Pixel Launcher's settings then tap "home screen search settings" and finally "search engine" to change the search provider afterwards.

This is starting to roll ...
