Oneplus phones are just not a bang for buck deal anymore

Way too many 'oneplus killers' able to match or surpass it while being the same price or way cheaper.

Pocophone f1, Nokia 7plus, galaxy S9. All have headphone Jack's, all have cameras within spitting distance of the OP, all have SD card expansion.

In my country, pocophone and Nokia are both around $430. The Samsung s9 around $700. Oneplus 6t is around $680.

Literally the only thing oneplus users can cling to is the OS. I'm sure a whole bunch of them will come rushing in screaming 'updates'...

Are Android widgets dying?

(I've seen posts like this in the past, and I just wanted you're opinions/thoughts on this)

**Are widgets dying**? I've noticed that a lost of my favorite apps only have icon widgets which are more of shortcut launchers rather than widgets. For example, Google docs does not have a widget that lets us put a document on the home screen, but it does have a widget that lets us immediately go to the search bar.

Also, Google recently redesigned the Calendar app, but the widget seems to be the same. ...

What cool OEM features of your brand of phone keeps you from moving away to another phone make?

I've had Google, Sony, Samsung, HTC among other brand phones over the years but it has to be said that Samsung takes the largest slice of the pie chart.

[I find features like smart select optical reader to read text from a screenshot](https://youtu.be/9m_gB7xr7ig) and use it elsewhere really useful. Also the pinned screenshot feature in smart select comes into its own for various uses!

It's little things like this that just make life more convenient and less frustrating, and something I don't ...

David Ruddock: I've heard Google is currently investigating whether current optical fingerprint sensor designs are secure enough to be used for TrustZone auth (mobile payments, banking apps, etc). There is real concern optical FPRs may be too easy to spoof.

MegaN64 emulator for android has been infected with malware as of lastest update

As of September 24th, 2018, MegaN64 has been infected with malware and an update was made. This update was downloaded by millions because of the auto update feature on the Play store. I'd link pictures to how harmful it can be, but unsure of how I'd go about doing that, I'll see if I can get some links in an edit.

My data has just reset, I turned it on when I was out of the house for about 10 minutes and found that MegaN64 used up 249MB of data, keep in mind, I haven't actually used the app i...

Dear Android phone reviewers: please stop focusing on raw stats and start reviewing the actual everyday performance and usability.

I bought a new phone recently.

I've read a lot of reviews from both amateur and supposedly professional reviewers, and pretty much all of them agreed that it was an amazing phone. It was named on of the best phones of 2018 in pretty much every top 10 list available.
Reviewers lauded it for its amazing camera, beefy battery and great performance, among other things. Consequently, the phone scored very favorably in almost every review I watched and read.

Based on these verdicts, I bought it....
