A thought on personalized Android UI after years of Android Stock
I used Android stock for a lot of years (since Gingerbread). I used to hate every Android personalization, and If I bought a smartphone with proprietary interface I used to install a stock custom rom. But this year I decided to switch to EMUI (on Huawei P Smart, 2018 model), and I realized how things changed. EMUI has a lot of useful features (quick search, private files) and lets you disable almost every Google service you don't need (furthermore, I don't like how Google has become so intrusive...

[X-Post] Google suspended my app for having a button that shows users my other apps in the play store.
Last night, I received a mail from Google Play Support notifying me that one of my icon pack apps have been removed from play store for violating "Deceptive Ads policy". That was extremely confusing as all of my apps are free and have no ads at all.
I wrote back to them and surprisingly got a response this morning, and seemingly from an actual person, not a bot auto-rejecting all appeals; which is nice for a change.
The support rep gave this reasoning -

An idea about the pre-installed apps problem
A problem of Android is the storage. OEM vendors tells us that the phone comes with 16GB of storage, while 6GB are used by internal apps. It's like a fake propaganda. The user might not even use all of these pre-installed apps.
The setup of the phone (the part when you connect to WiFi, add a Google account etc.) could have a triggered task to download all apps that the OEM demands, or to install APKS stored in a separate partition. This task would be executed in the background, so the user won...
