IMO: Messenger is the Android equivalent of iMessage.... unfortunately

Facebook Messenger is SO good. The design, all the features, video calling built in, etc. The only issue, and unfortunately this is a big issue, is that messenger comes from Facebook. That's so frustrating to me.

Why can't Google do this? Make an app exactly like Messenger and have it baked into the most basic version of Android, required by all manufacturers that use Android.

It sounds so simple to me. Why isn't it?...

(X-post from r/GalaxyNote9) Updated Note 9 to Android Pie and lost all network connectivity.

(for r/Android subreddit, I'm positing this due to finding a fix, I'm not asking for help. I showed what I've tried, and want to give people facing the same issue a jerry-rigged solution until carrier's provide a fix)

I'll keep this short and sweet since my previous attempt at writing this was wiped out by an accidental palming of the back button. (There has to be some kind of "are you sure you want to discard" button. Seriously.)

Bought the phone a week ago. Set it up how I like it. Saw the a...

(Discussion) A smartphone band you dislike?

Is there any smartphone brand you dislike/ had a bad experience with?

I personally dislike Huawei, since I own Huawei device which was released 16 months ago but won't get any Android updates anymore (I;m stuck on Oreo) No developers support (it means no custom roms and further support from developers), locked bootloader which now can only be unlocked if you pay money in case to root device.

Terrible Ram management even beside that my phone has 4GB Ram, bloated and pretty ugly UI (t...

Would you be happy if Google restricted background clipboard access ONLY to System apps with Android Q?

Dear Android community,

Recently, I read a post on xda-developers detailing upcoming changes in Android Q: [https://www.xda-developers.com/android-q-block-background-clipboard-external-storage-permissions-downgrading-apps/#comment-4315277754](https://www.xda-developers.com/android-q-block-background-clipboard-external-storage-permissions-downgrading-apps/#comment-4315277754)

Google has already taken valuable permissions away from us, preventing useful functionality such as call recording, call...

SNS apps should have a truly "full manual" mode, so more people would install / use them

A lot of people use SNS apps like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc on a daily basis and are happy with it. That is totally fine.

But a lot of light users do not really care about SNS that much, even though they want to check on new posts and messages and content once in a while, when THEY want to, not when the apps want them to.

These people also prefer longer battery life.

So there is the option to uninstall / disable said apps in favour of using the web browser versions. That way the apps d...
