SNS apps should have a truly "full manual" mode, so more people would install / use them

A lot of people use SNS apps like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc on a daily basis and are happy with it. That is totally fine.

But a lot of light users do not really care about SNS that much, even though they want to check on new posts and messages and content once in a while, when THEY want to, not when the apps want them to.

These people also prefer longer battery life.

So there is the option to uninstall / disable said apps in favour of using the web browser versions. That way the apps d...

Gestures/Navigation: Which method is your favourite? Default gestures are very poor

I have been using the oneplus gestures on my 6 for a long time. i like them a lot and they are very responsive, i never do the wrong gesture by accident. it seems like the best method ive tried

recently i switched to the default android gestures to see what they are like. I feel like the default pie gestures are very half baked and a bit pointless. effectively the back button and home button function exactly the same as they always have. instead of a recents button you need a swipe on the home ...

Last weekend we talked about how not all BLE 5 phones are equal (and how most of the ultra-expensive flagships do not have long-range PHY), this weekend let's talk about GNSS/GPS, more specifically DUAL-FREQUENCY (L1+L5) GNSS

What apps are sending out data without your knowledge?

Sitting on couch, watching tv and looking at phone. Literally everything closed on phone, yet my WiFi icon is lit like a Christmas tree

Few Google searches later and I've installed the program Glasswire. Give it the permissions for usage and cell data...

Then come to find out my Netvue app that I installed due to my Netvue camera is uploading at like 800k a second. This is the camera I turn on only when I travel, and haven't used it since December. Plenty of reboots since then... Turned every ...

Root/Bloatware Removal/Custom ROM beginners' topic

Greetings,

I've been searching for a topic where there's a summary of all information of people that want to install a Custom ROM, or just want bloatware removed.

I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017), and I left it in the warranty cause I was having problems with the screen, and of course it came back factory reset. This is the point where I start to uninstall/disable all of the bloatware. I do this since I have Android (since 2012). This is the point that I ask myself why do I keep doing this, w...

So how do you customize the banner in Play Store now that Google+ is going?

I'm talking about [this background image](https://i.imgur.com/fajiPI4.png) in play store which since Google+ profiles are getting shut down, now only shows the default google colors. Is this just an oversight on Google's part where they're shutting down the service before fully replacing all the functionality elsewhere? Or is there some trick to it I'm unaware of? I mean ideally the phone/app could just allow you to set an image directly, without the G+ profile.

I'm also curious how apps dev...
