Lenovo p2 had 5100 mAh in 2016.. in a 5,5" body. What's up with the small batteries in 6"+ flagship phones?

Seriously, with the upcoming S10 that has a meager 3400 mAh battery in a 6,1" phone, (only 3000 mAh in the 5,8" S10e!!) I'm wondering if they're doing it on purpose. All batteries degrade, but 70% of 5000 mAh is a lot more usable than 70% of a 3000mAh battery. In case of the latter, you just have to buy a new phone if you want to get through a single day.

The Lenovo p2 had a 5100mAh battery in a 5,5" display! **In 2016!** For just 300$. It lasted for 2-3 days with heavy use. Sure, bezels have b...

Phone price comparisons over time

Hello guys, I've created a chart with phone prices at launch for fun. I thought it would be interesting to share. [Here it is.](https://imgur.com/a/oVKrwwy)

Things I noticed:

* Nexus was good bang for the buck, Pixel not so much.
* Huawei has always been competitive in pricing, especially now that they have the hardware to compete against the other series.
* OnePlus seems to have taken over the "bang for buck" crown from Nexus, with the Pixels being more premium-priced.
* Apple iPhone was alwa...

Tall Phones and large palms

Why have the 16:9 phones disappeared? The screen sizes have increased but the overall phone sizes have remained the same as the bezels have disappeared. But really the greatest change in the last couple of years for screens has the change in aspect ratio. People who bought large phones did so because they had big palms and thick fingers. Now even the supposedly huge OnePlus 6T at 6.41 inches feels like a remote control given its aspect ratio.

I am surprised this is not a bigger issue and users ...

Is MIUI really THAT bad?

Is Xiaomi's UI really that bad? I've never used it before but aesthetically it looks nice, clean and simple. Performance wise, does it lag that much behind other UIs? Is the global ROM bloat heavy? I've seen a lot of people on r/android trashing it, or is it a vocal minority of purists who dislike it? ...

Phone lifespan

I feel like one thing that people don't even consider while buying a phone is how long they plan to use it. Reviews cannot mention the durability of a phone and there is no way to measure it.

I just realized that I buy < $200 phones (which is normal in India) and throw them away after barely a year. I wonder if people who buy flagships/expensive phones use it for a higher period of time.

So I just wanted to know how long you use your phones and also their costs. Also, what was the longest you'...

Google's 30% Cut And The Future Of Apps

I think that things are changing in the App World. Google and Apple only see it from a maximize profit mindset. They see app revenue growing and all they can think about is make more money, more money.

But 2 significant shifts have happened.

1. Fortnite Going Outside Of Google Play
2. The Legal Case Against Apple For High App Store Prices As A Result Of The 30% Tax

What could happen?

1. If A Strong 3rd Party App Store Emerges

Epic or some other strong 3rd party will build a small to me...

Android Messages Wish-List

# Before I start
I've suggested the iMessage effects before, and decided to make a larger post in hopes to hear more ideas from the community. This is just a list of suggestions that could make [*Messages*](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging) even better. Now, of course, everyone has their opinions or there could be *legal* issues with these suggestions that I might not be aware of (see more below). I am simply putting this here because, really, I don...

SwiftKey Automatic Incognito mode for Privacy Browsers/Tabs - No longer beta

Anyone else notice this with the Swiftkey update 2 days ago? I know this was recently in the beta, but it's part of the official release version now.

I'm a big fan of the feature so far due to the convenience factor. It's nice seeing that little incognito character on the keyboard whenever I open Firefox Focus or a private tab in Bromite, without the extra few steps of switching it over in the keyboard settings.

USB Type-C to 3.5 mm Dongle Sound Quality Issues - Solved

I purchased a Mate 20 Pro recently and my biggest hesitation was the lack of headphone jack.

Upon receiving I was sorely disappointed by the audio quality from the bundled dongle, made my quality headphones sound cheap and on top of that the max volume was drounded out duing my commute. I am still very reluctant to move to wireless due to poor battery life and on top of that very few models that charge via USB Type-C.

After buying a few cheap 3rd party dongles from amazon I finally sucked up ...
