As far as Phones are concerned, is there any meaning in going beyond 1080p?

I used a LG at 1440p in the past, and am now using a Xiaomi mi mix 2s (1080p)

It's been 3 months now with my new phone and I see no difference in sharpness, or at least nothing that would make me go "Oh yeah that's absolutely necessary"

Now I understand that some people do VR with their phone but for the average person I can't see how 400ppi isn't enough for a 6inch device

I've looked at other phones at 1440p and above besides mine in the past 3 months too, couldn't tell a difference besides...

One Plus is now a top-five high-end smartphone OEM in the US!

However, do any of you think that they will use the opportunity to stick to their roots, listen to some fans and keep prices competitive or will they use this to cash-grab from consumers?

I think the removal of the headphone jack on the One Plus 6T is a sign that they're ready to make compromis...
