Why hasn't a different approach to foldable phones been attempted?
So as we are seeing, a lot of manufacturers are developing the first generation of foldable smart phones to be released this year. Many of the issues tend to stem from the crease in the middle causing it to look more like a Taco when it's folded as opposed to the slimmer design of modern smartphones. Theres a lot of forms these phone are going to come in
Horizontal fold (Motorola Razr v4) Where it would be a mini phone that flips up to become a normal phone size
Vertical folds:
2 Displays (Galaxy F) folds inwards and a secondary screen is on the outside
Double fold (Xiaomi) when folded the back would have each halfs of the screen folded on its back (similar to flex pai but with 2 folds)
Single display (Flex Pai) We've all seen this one
