Its been known for quite a while that phones with optical fingerprint readers were not good enough for mass market smartphones. *No one should have to make sure their screen is on to use a fingerprint reader.* Its a disjointed user experience. S10e Side Bezels Smaller than XS - Don't Fall for Symmetry

Using PPI, resolution, and the total physical width of the iPhone XS and S10e, you will find that S10e actually has smaller bezels than a XS. I'm including the metal frame of the phones as part of a bezel, because it is.

XS Width - 2.79in, 1125(Width resolution)/458PPI = 2.4563in. There is about **0.3337in** of side bezel, or **0.16685in per side.**

S10e Width - 2.75in, 1080(Width resolution)/438PPI = 2.46575in. There is about **0.28425in** of side bezel, or **0.142125in per side.**

Images of the S9+ and XS Max are from iFixit. The S10+ is from the official Samsung website. The images are scaled based on the devices' officially listed heights.

The S10 appears to be improved significantly in terms of density. This explains the decreased thickness (8.5 mm to 7.8 mm from the S9 to S10), as well as the increase in battery capacity (3500 mAh to 4100 mAh).

For context, the XS Max is 7.7 mm thick with a 3179 mAh battery....

Samsung's specs page mistakenly listed the S10e's screen as 1440p yesterday (It's 1080p)

Just wanted to post this here in case anyone else was confused while reserving/placing preorders yesterday. A lot of the youtube first looks called out that the screen was 1080p, but I thought they were all wrong because the [official specs list on Samsung's site](https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-s10/specs/) had it listed as 2280x1440.
