With the rise of foldable phones, do you think Google will rework the Android's tablet experience ?

As foldable phones are now a thing and as they will probably offer more and more screen real estate with time (if they actually become a new standard), do you think Google will start considering Android's tablet experience again, which is currently only maintained by a few manufacturers ? I don't expect them to fully embrace it but perhaps working on making sure Android is able to provide a visual feedback and experience that kind of justify the nature of these devices.

After all, people still ...

Samsung makes flagship phone without Maxim audio chips for first time in several years!

Ok, so yesterday I got to see the Exynos S10's teardown info. Turns out that there are no Maxim audio chips to be seen! If you look at teardowns for the S8 and S9, you will see a Maxim Integrated audio amplifier. As of the S9 release, every flagship tablet, along the Note and S series phones since the Galaxy S3 contained audio chips from Maxim....

Is amoled truly an upgrade over IPS displays?

I'm looking for a new phone and have been looking at both the LG G7 as well as the V35, the main differences seem to be the v35 having an amoled display while the g7 has ips. The problem though is i keep seeing others complain about oled causing screen problems in the future. Its odd to me that a more "future proof" phone like the v35 would have a screen more suceptable to wear in the long run than the ips of the g7. So do most people still believe amoled > ips?...

What are your favorite apps/settings/ways to attend the battery life and performance of your phone?

Hey guys,

I recently replaced most of the Google apps with their Go counterpart (with exception to Maps Go, for some reason the Navigation app didn't work) and replaced other social media apps with their Lite versions. For anything else, I used Hermit to create lite apps for my favorite sites that don't have an alternative.

This has extended the battery life and performance of my phone without really getting rid of most features I get out of these apps.

What are your favorite alternatives to...

S10e vs S10/S10+ vibration motor

From this teardown [video](https://youtu.be/IB1Rku9OK5Y), it seems that the S10e has a different vibration motor (J03) from the S10/S10+ (J50)

Does anyone have the knowledge on how much these two motors differ?

EDIT : Samsung Galaxy S9 has a J40 motor. ...

Are removeable batteries still a big deal to you guys or no?

Not sure if this is still a big deal to this sub and this post isn't meant to target, isolate, and discriminate against those who do enjoy the convenience of removeable batteries.

However, I have not once been in a situation where I thought "Oh, darn, if only I had a removable battery!" I have plenty of charging options that work plenty fast and I am never forced to stay away from a charger for long periods of time. And with proper power management on my S8, I can keep going for much longer wi...

How often do y'all upgrade your phones?

Just curious is all! I feel like nowadays more people are holding off on upgrades since phone prices are crazy expensive but I'm sure there are still some people who would want to upgrade every year. For me, I had an LG G4 for 3 years before I got my Pixel 2, before that was an iPhone 5 that lasted only 2 years because it got stolen :/...

[DEV] Campfire - A free, fast, and clean song book app for musicians and people who like to sing (no ads)

Hi!

I'm really excited to share with you the pet project I've been working on for the past year, hopefully some of you will find it useful. It's a free, open-source app without any ads called Campfire: a hand-picked collection of popular, high quaity song lyrics and chords.

The app has tons of features: you can create your own playliststs, you can share them with others and I also keep uploading thematic collections of songs periodically. There are random song suggestions if you don'...
