What ways would you make your phone feel new ?

Now, I'm on a LG V20. Pretty decent phone, but with the phone not getting security updates, or really any update I wanted to know what I could do, to make this phone feel new again. I don't want to shell out the stupid amount of money for a new phone for more features. Now, I already use Nova Launcher. I'd want to use LOS, but it hasn't been updated in some time so security issues and there is a speakerphone bug which is really annyoing . Most stock ROMs are also discontinued. Back in the early years of Android, one of the biggest and best advantages it had over iOS was widgets. Not only could you place them anywhere, but they were generally the best way to quickly get info from an app or trigger an action within an app without ever having to leave your home screen.

Are you still rooting?

I got my xiaomi mi 9 yesterday. So far i love the phone and in general i don't have any serious issues with miui since i had a redmi note 5 for the past year and i started really liking it after v. 10 came out.

Now this time, since camera2api works out of the box i just installed blokada, sideloaded gcam, restored my account and apps and I'm pretty much done.

I don't think I'm even going to unlock the bootloader on this one.

Can I just say that Samsung has been absolutely killing it for the last years?

Honestly tho. I don't mean to make this post sound like an advertisement or something but I am so incredibly happy with the way Samsung is going right now.

The galaxy S6 was pretty rough, quite literally. Then the S7 was quite good, and the Note 7, while obviously that didn't go over it was still an incredible phone back then. But then the S8 came out and man, ever since Samsung has done nothing but improve and perfect.

PSA: Latest Whatsapp beta appears to be deleting all media messages, don't update yet

Got the update about 2 hours ago on my Pixel 3, and media from all my conversations has disappeared. Everything still appears to be on the phone's storage though, so hopefully an update can restore them in their place. If I go into the chat's options and media the app crashes, unless I've sent/received a media message since the update, in which case it just shows the new media....
