Netflix has cleanest looking app on Pixel 2 XL

Have you noticed how clean the Netflix app looks on the Pixel 2 XL? It's my favorite app to look at.

The layout is flawless. True full screen. It rounds all four corners with the same background color. It has no lines running across right above the bottom buttons like the Reddit app.

It's deserves a shout-out on that alone. ...

You know what would be nice?

It would be nice if the Android pie navigation gestures could be scooted to the right a little. (Or the left, I'm not a lefty hater).

In any case, just so this post doesn't become a rant, I wanted to share my home screen and a link to how to get rid of the status bar at the top of your phone. I freaking love my home screen! :D

PSA : Pie's Adaptive Battery might be turned off by default in your S10.

At least, that was the case in my Exynos S10+ here in Singapore. Would be worthwhile to check if it's on. Only reason I found out was because I was having terrible battery life and I saw posts online about how Adaptive Battery could be the culprit. Went to check my settings and AB was actually off....

Are multi-finger gestures/swipes still a thing?

I apologize in advance if this question is either frequently asked or the answer is blatantly obvious but I really haven't had much luck getting a straight answer by looking this up.

I used to have a Galaxy S6 that I had multi-finger gestures on. For example, one of the most useful shortcuts I had set was for my phone to lock and go to sleep when I spread three fingers out on the screen and it would do this regardless of what app was active on the screen.

I currently have...

Just an S10+ Review from a Regular Guy

Just got my hands on the Samsung Galaxy S10+ for the past 5 days, I’m just going to compile things that I like a don’t like about the S10+

What I like about the S10+

Display. What stood out the most was the display, Samsung never failed to make the Display nice

8GB of ram. The 8GB ram was more than sufficient for my daily uses. It has kept all my apps open and where I left off without a refresh.

4100mah battery. Battery life has been the best I’ve gotten in a smartphone. It could last me abo...

Pinning Live cricket scores on Google Android

I recently noticed a new feature when searching cricket scores.
You get a new option now called "pin live score".

It adds a sticky bubble on your screen with live score. This can be tapped again to see more details which is also a popup window.

I think this a neat feature that can let user do other tasks on their phone while keeping updated with live scores.

so i did a thing this morning.... new galaxy s10+. bye iphone x.

long time apple fan.... have been for decades now. ive had an iphone since launch day of the very first one. last year, apples lack of a new mac pro, and complete and total screwjob of their new laptops sent me in another direction, and i built my own workstation for the first time in 10 years. my threadripper system is now my primary computer.

a month or two ago, after getting frustraated again with apples crap integration with windows, and having to have my iphone x (which is barely a year o...

What is Your Favorite Android Version?

For me, it was Android KitKat - specifically, version 4.4.3 as it came with a built in permissions manager that was disabled in 4.4.4. Top 3 reasons:

1. This is the last time the Notification Ticker was enabled in Android. Best way to get notifications without disrupting your current task.
2. Lock screen widgets. The ability to access info without unlocking your device was super useful.
3. Holo theme/design - although it was toned WAY down by then, it still looked so much more attractive than m...

[DEV] 'Mars Eyes' Android Application (Mars Rovers' Photos)

Greetings,

I have developed my first Android application, from which you can choose a certain Mars Rover (out of 3 currently in existence), then a certain calendar date and voila: all the photos taken on Mars by that specific Rover on that specific date, taken directly from the NASA database. The app is not yet in its final form, for example some dates do not display any photos because of some inconsistency in the provided data. Fixes are on the way, including changes regarding the la...
