What do you think about the "Galaxy J" Series?

Recently, a lot of phone services like Metro PCS and Cricket have been "giving away" phones like the Galaxy J7 and J3. It has been oversaturating the market.

Sure, it's great for people to have phones for the first time, but each new model that comes out is the same thing. For example, the Galaxy J7 Prime and the Prime 2. The Prime 2 is basically redesigned but the same processor, camera, and screen! And the phones break very easily.

I once had a J7 Pro, and I had it for almost 7 months until...

Why did you choose an Android over an iPhone?

This is an no hate thread or whichever OS is better. This is purely for users to read other people's opinions on why they choose their OS or why they prefer A over B.

I have posted a similar thread on /r/Apple here:

The Apple post is not accepted yet....

If you use bxActions and you haven't activated it on a PC, you are missing out.

So when I got bxActions to remap the Bixby button, I thought it would be awesome, and it was, sort of. Sure, I could set the Bixby button to open GA, but it was still delayed, as the app had to intercept Bixby and replace it with activating GA. The delay was noticable, and it felt like what it was- a workaround, and not the actual feature I wanted. But it worked, and I didn't really care that much.

But after plugging my phone into my computer and actually activating the full remapping, holy cr...

Alright, this is how to downgrade Pocketcasts from V7 to 6.4.15

Sad announcement: after a few days of experimenting and kernel source digging, I came to the conclusion that systemless Magisk is only possible on the recovery partition on the S10. Samsung's bootloader restricts what is possible on normal booted scenarios.

What should a new android user know for customization/optimization?

I'm just looking for some advice that could get me (or anyone who has converted to android) started on customization or optimization features that a new user may not know. Any tips, tricks, or suggestions would he greatly appreciated.

Background: I'm on my second Samsung phone (S9), and I've never really tried to explore what I can do with it (compared to apple products) to better suit my wants/needs. I consider myself to be tech literate but no where near as advanced as some of you.

I don't ...
