Tip: When Messages for Web disconnects from your phone, just turn off/on your WiFi on your phone and it will reconnect instantly.
I read this tip somewhere online and I've been doing it ever since. Don't get me wrong, I wish Messages for web was more reliable. It should let you login with your Google account so that it's always online, but until then this is a great tip to keep the connection going....

Nokia 7 Plus stock camera app connecting to Facebook servers
Yesterday while checking my AdGuard logs, I realized that my stock camera app had [tried to connect](https://i.imgur.com/w2SJfXO.jpg) to Facebook servers out of the blue. I haven't used facebook, opened my camera or anything like that. That seemed a bit strange.
Today I realized that every single time I take a photo or open up the camera, the camera app [tries to connect to Facebook](https://i.imgur.com/5mssN88.jpg) not only once but **twice**. Facebook wasn't used at all at this time and this ...

"Even though the absolute power isn’t that much bigger than the Cortex A55 cores, the Tempest and Mistral cores are 2.5x faster than an A55, which also results in energy efficiency that is around 2x better." - AnandTech
Everyone always talks about the big core scores, but phones are usually running on these little cores. The A55 is 2 years old at this point and obviously in dire need of an update. On [SPEC2006](https://images.anandtech.com/doci/14072/SPEC2006eff-overview_575px.png), it's barely more efficient than an A76.
This seems to be a far more important issue than the perf discrepancy between Apple and ARM big cores. At least those are similar efficiency wise.

Why not actual album structure in Google photos?
Wouldn't it be nice if there was actual album of photos instead just referencing photos to an album? Right now there is no easy way to find photos not included in an album. Imagine if you want to categorize backed up photos of the last month. You have screenshots, meme you downloaded, some photos of really important documents, and photos you took in the dinner outings. You create following albums to organize them
"meme", "important doc", "outings" "screenshots".
You organize some of the photos ...

We spotted puppy cube at this year's CES. While the name puzzled me, what the device did seemed pretty special and fun. You see, puppy cube is a projector that projects an Android UI you can actually touch. It's pretty nifty. Not too long ago, the makers…

Remember how Google once left Google Voice abandoned without any updates for 5 years and then suddenly remembered they owned it?
[Yeah. It was weird.](https://blog.google/products/google-voice/ringing-2017-updates-our-google-voice-apps/)
I had used the Voice since it launched in 2009 so I could have a local number where I was attending college until I moved in 2015 across the country. Then all of a sudden, 5 years after it was last updated, Google released an update to the app and have since kept it updated with bug fixes, features, and more. Still surprised it's outlived so many of their other ventures. ...

The bundled non-removable virus that is called Lenovo User Experience
I recently rooted my (old-ish) Lenovo tb2-x30f tablet with official firmware 6.0.1, and set out to uninstall or disable all the unwanted apps that made it so sluggish, but I've hit a snag. I disabled the ones I could and froze the others in Titanium Backup. These were the first to go:
* Lenovo ID
* Market Feedback Agent
* User Experience
So far, so good. Who needs that stuff anyway? Imagine my surprise when Magisk asked me if I wanted to give *User Experience* superuser privileges. Why would...

Gboard Dictation Typing syllables?
Sometimes, when my bad spelling and swipe texting team up to get the best of me, I cannot manage to get a word to appear thus I use the dictation mic to get that word. Well, this morning I did this and said "Aggravate" (yes, chuckle all you want that I couldn't remember if it was aggra- or aggre-) and gboard typed it out as I was saying it! Instead of waiting to type the whole word.
So, to test it, I did it again but said indecision really slowly and it typed out each syllable as I moved their...
