Google Photos Biggest Misstep

Ever since Google Photos launched the search by person/place/thing feature in app, I was amazed at how accurate and helpful it was. When you have thousands of photos in your phone, the search feature is really great. But there has always been one major issue, you can't use this feature when opening/sending photos in other apps.

Want to send a picture via text? Can't use the search feature. Want to change your Facebook profile picture? Can't use the search feature. Etc. These seem to be the uses...

It's 2019. The Play Store still cannot handle users that go abroad.

I am a German citizen. Every couple months I need to go abroad for 2-8 weeks due to my job. Many companies within these countries offer Apps to use things such as Public Transport, Bikes, Museum tours, sim-card top ups or for example just a simple KFC-coupon App.

The developers often dont make these Apps available for people from other regions - which makes sense, why would a German play store user want to see 100+ different KFC Apps for each different country?
