Pixel 3a and 3aXL are on their way

So just got the order for the Pixel 3a and 3aXL on the way to our Verizon store. This is before the release even from Google! Just figured I'd keep the hype going and letting everyone know that these phones are going to available very soon, maybe sooner then we expected. I'll be happy to post again when they arrive and I'm able to get my hands on them! (P.S. they are both in 64Gb variants if that's useful news to anyone)...

Pixel 3a - Doesn't seem like there's a spectral/flicker sensor

Assuming the leaks and photos of the boxes etc are true (at this point, it is all but confirmed), it doesn't look like the 3a has the spectral/flicker sensor that the 3 has. There aren't any extra holes or sensors on the back of the phone like the 3, 2, and 1 have, so I'm assuming the 3a is using phase detection autofocus (PDAF) like the 3 does but doesn't have the spectral/flicker sensor.

I know those are used for specific circumstances in video recording, but I just wanted to point that out a...

The Moto G7 Plus is currently in violation of the "Android Enterprise Recommended" requisites

As much as I love the phones that Moto makes, this sucks. The G7 Plus is supposedly in the list of [android enterprise recommended](https://androidenterprisepartners.withgoogle.com/device/#!/4898556297084928) devices, which means it must get security patches within 90 days of their release for 5 years.

However, the G7 Plus is [currently sitting with the January 2019 security patch](https://i.imgur.com/Rs8xslW.png). This means it's in violation of these requisites already, super soon after laun...

What happened to the interest in rooting from developers?

Is it because every phone has its own security systems that need seperate exploits? Did the interest fade? Or does a rooted OS simply not give you anything worthwhile anymore?

I have seen that the recent huawei p30 cannot be rooted yet. So did i find the oppo find X of a year old cant be rooted. What happened in the scene of custom roms, hacking and tweaking these phones? Why are they pretty much abandoned?

I'd love to sniff around in these chinese phones and spot spyware or chinese apps to...

Google pay app just got enabled on my WearOS watch in the Netherlands.

Did anyone get to actually pay using Google pay on WearOS watch successfully in the Netherlands?

The Google pay app just got enabled on my Fossil Sport in the settings. However when I try to add my debit card I am getting the below message.

This card can't be set up to pay in stores.
This feature isn't supported by your bank for this card yet. You can try adding another card for in-store use....
