Pretty sure I'm not the only one thinking this, but I genuinely believe a feature similar to airdrop would insanely increase the popularity of android devices.

I own a samsung but I used to own an iphone and mac. It was literally so easy to just use airdrop and it made life so convenient. Introducing features that apple have basically handicapped their consumers with would insanely increase the appeal of android devices, especially if they work with windows computers too. The other options simply just don't work (They're way too complicated, slow, or just don't work, eg: wifi direct).

Thoughts?...

Google's Director of Product Management will be doing an AMA on Stadia at 1PM est

It's not 100% Android related (so mods delete if you need), but there's been a good amount of posts about it on this sub that I figured others might be interested in it. I believe it'll be in the /r/stadia subreddit

How would you improve Android's UI/UX, if you were in charge?

Let's say you have the power to make changes in Android UI/UX, what would you change in Android? NOTE: You cannot completely redesign it and come up with something new, but you can add bits and pieces and change things around.

I would...

* Go back to the Rolodex switcher - In fact, rip it out and make it part of the launcher so each can offer their own solution.
* Work out a deal with Apple and add spring back / edge bounce back feature everywhere.

Some Android manufacturers still don't have support for Bluetooth HID Device Profiles yet

In Android Pie, support for [Bluetooth HID Device Profiles](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/bluetooth/BluetoothHidDevice) was added which means your device could operate other devices as a keyboard, mouse, gamepad, etc strictly through Bluetooth without the need of an additional server, etc. I have been following and supporting the development of an app called JoyCon Droid which lets you use your 9 or later Android device as a JoyCon or Pro Controller on the Nintendo Switch. We'v...

Android Q and later ruins a huge amount of features, APIs and apps - a call for votes

Over the past years, I've noticed that Android got more and more restrictions, but there was always an explanation and alternatives.

However, on Android Q and later, there are just so many changes that are planned, that will ruin apps and the experience to users. Please check those up, search more about them on the issue tracker, star those issues, and optionally write something inside them :

[Meta] The sidebar is partly very outdated, any solution?

Hi guys and girls,

as a good reddit user i wanted to read the sidebar od r/android before posting and found a linknto the wiki or r/pickanandroid

the wiki pages with the phone suggestions is really outdated recommending moto g5 when the g7 is already released for less of what the g5 had cost.
Also some other stuff is missing or not relevant anymore as well...

i was wondering if this was a real issue or is abbandoned and/or legacy wiki pages

can one volunteer to do some maintainance?...
