Binged Paradise from Hulu (i pirated it soz) to cope with the looming sense of dread I’ve felt since yesterday evening

8/10 incredible premise and good mystery unfortunately the twist reveal of the mystery felt lackluster to me, i didn’t know who but i knew what it was gonna be and i hated being right! But the show is reeeeally good in general! The ending of episode 1 was one of the best hooks ive ever seen on any TV show ever lol

I bet it’ll be about the location of Versailles being leaked somehow and them having to deal with all the refugees that’ll arrive, probably accept a whole bunch before they stop. I expect some kind of civil war plot where the tension between refugees and residents boils over, or the government of Versailles does a mass slaughter outside before any refugees can enter.

The National Assembly of the People’s Power is the unicameral body responsible for legislative affairs in the government of the Republic of Alzira. It is composed of 2,000 representatives. A minimum 2/3 of the assembly is reserved for members of the National Congress of Labor, however there are often more. Each NCL party member has to be elected in their local constituency in competition with orher NCL candidates. These NCL races happen nationally. As of the most recent election, the NCL has 1,452 seats.

The Republican People’s Party is the historical rival of the National Congress of Labor. Although initially declared an illegal opposition party, it has since been reinstated and begun running candidates in some districts. Foreign analysts claim the modern RPP is merely a puppet of the NCL, meant to showcase some semblance of legitimate democratic competition.

The Communist Party of Alzira is the third largest party by number of seats in the assembly at 152. They are mostly elected from urban constituencies.

The next two blocs—the Industrial Worker’s Union and Farm Worker’s Union—are constitutionally bound to possess a minimum of 60 seats each.

The Green Party has 27 seats.

The Republican Alliance has 12 seats. It is the only party that regularly votes against the NCL. It is unclear to foreign analysts why it has not been banned, let alone allowed to win 12 seats (5 of which were former NCL seats).

There are 21 independents. Only 1 regularly votes against the NCL.
