A man has been charged after police were called to reports of gunshot sounds in #Gorton.

Mohammed Haseeb Umar (21/12/1996) of Broadlea Road, Burnage has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Manchester & Salford Magistrates’ Court on Monday 27 April 2020.

Shortly before 7pm on Thursday 23 April 2020, police were called to reports of gunshot sounds following several gatherings in relation to a funeral service that had taken place at the cemetery earlier that afternoon.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information and would urge anyone with any information, images or footage that could assist their investigation to visit https://crowd.in/DwsVsf where information can be uploaded.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact police on 0161 856 1146 or 101, quoting incident number 2455 of 23/04/20. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
