By the end of 2012, the Rochdale Grooming Gang ringleader, Shabir Ahmed, who lived in Oldham, was already in prison. Yet for some reason, the Council review into historic safeguarding practices has only chosen to limit the scope of its inquiry into 2012/13. That Shabir Ahmed was an Oldham Council employee with access to vulnerable children and families makes limiting the inquiry to such a tight time period even more ridiculous.

I'm sure people are capable of making their own minds up why the not at all independent investigation by the Council is limiting itself to these dates.

I'm also sure that the Council only choosing to investigate shisha bars, taxi companies and children’s homes will not have gone unnoticed. Particularly, the omission of schools from this list.

Already, just by examining what is excluded from this investigation, it is becoming clear what the outcome will be.

I have repeatedly called for a genuinely independent investigation where what is looked in to is not determined by SEAN FIELDING and his Oldham Council Officers. I am not alone in my position, it is shared across Oldham.

I have zero confidence in this farce of an investigation.
