🇺🇦☦️ - The Patriarch's remarks come after the siege of the Kiev Caves lavra entered its second day. Russian Orthodox faithful surrounded the monastery - one of the holiest sites in Eastern Orthodoxy - to prevent SBU officers entering, and as previously mentioned, the monks have declared they will not leave under pain of martyrdom.

☦️⚡️ - One of the Kiev monks has joined "Patriarch" Epiphany of Kiev's Orthodox Church of Ukraine - the organization currently seeking to take over the monastery with Zelensky's blessing.
The OCU, for those who are unaware, is a government-backed Orthodox church in Ukraine which seceded from the Russian Orthodox Church after Ukrainian independence in 1991. It claims to be an autocephalous church - a claim Moscow disputes - and had its autocephaly recognized by the Patriarch of Constantinople, leading to a schism within Orthodoxy.

JUST IN - U.S. government is considering asking Black Americans on federal forms, including the census, whether their ancestors were enslaved.
