One of the most interesting takeaways from the documents is that, according to the DoJ, the black nationalist African People's Socialist Party, as well as its splinter organization, the Black Hammer Party, received Russian funding.
This is, we believe, the first time since 2020 that the DoJ has addressed black separatism as a threat and their decision to do so is certainly a marked shift in tone.

Furthermore, General Haftar and the Ethiopian government have been allegedly supporting the RSF, all of which are part of a larger regional conflict between Egypt, backed by Turkey, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, against Ethiopia, backed by China, Russia, and Iran.

Ethiopia has been pushing to construct a dam on the Blue Nile which would restrict a good amount of Egyptian food and water supplies. The ongoing Sudanese coup could very well escalate into a proxy war.
