🇸🇾⚡️- The Syrian National Transitional Government has released its first statement since the fall of the Assad government.

"O free sons of Syria,

After long years of injustice, tyranny and oppression, and after great sacrifices made by the sons and daughters of this dear homeland, we announce today to the great Syrian people and the entire world that the regime of Bashar al-Assad has fallen, and that he has fled the country, leaving behind a legacy of destruction and suffering.

On this historic day, we announce that the forces of the revolution and opposition have taken control of affairs in beloved Syria, and we affirm our commitment to building a free, just and democratic state in which all citizens are equal without discrimination.

We pledge before God and before the people the following:
1. Preserving the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory.
2. Protecting all citizens and their property, regardless of their affiliations.
3. Working to rebuild the state and its institutions on the foundations of freedom and justice.
4. Striving to achieve comprehensive national reconciliation, and returning refugees and displaced persons to their homes in safety and dignity.
5. Holding accountable all those who have committed crimes against the Syrian people, in accordance with the law and justice.

We call on all the Syrian people to unite and stand together at this historic stage, and we affirm that the new Syria will not be the monopoly of anyone, but rather a homeland for all.

🇸🇾⚡️- BREAKING: Hayat Tahrir al-Sham claims to have shot down the IL-76 reportedly carrying Bashar Al Assad!

🇸🇾⚡️- 53 years of Assad Dynastic rule has officially ended today on December 7th, 2024

After 13 years of the most brutal and complicated civil war of the 21st century, the future of the country is uncertain, as loose anti-Assad coalition members will now have to determine how to move the state forward.

The issue of the Israeli occupation of the Golan Heights as well as Kurdish territorial claims will now come to a head. Turkish and Russian interests are also going to be considerable.

The incoming Trump Administration and NATO will have to formulate a strategy to prevent the new Syria from becoming a hotbed for terrorism as ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, and other groups now see the opportunity in the fallen country to return to power.

It is still not known if Assad was even on board the plane, however it has not been confirmed nor denied.

🇸🇾🇮🇱⚡️- Syrian opposition media report the IDF is shelling the city of Quneitra on the border with the occupied Golan Heights!

🇸🇾⚡️- "At exactly 4:45 am on Sunday, December 8, Bashar al-Assad left Syria." - Syrian Observatory.

🇸🇾 - This means Bashar al-Assad was likely on the IL-76 that reportedly crashed outside Homs, Syria.

🇮🇱🇸🇾🚨 The IDF has set up checkpoints along the Golan, and all agricultural areas adjacent to the border with Syria have been declared closed military zones.
