The delegation also visited the the city and airport of Ghat, LNA-controlled southwest Libya. The Turkish military delegation plans to develop the airport into a full-fledged Turkish military base. The base will be of strategic position for Turkey, as it seeks to expand its military support for the Sahel Juntas.

The city was formerly under LNA's Tuareg-led 128th Brigade, before the brigade was disbanded. Ghat's airport is also used by the Wagner Group to reinforce the Sahel Juntas.
