M23 in the north have advanced in the Masisi forest. Just south, continuing to use the Luhulu River, M23 have reached the outskirts of Burai. In the center, M23 have advanced along the heights of Lwama, and finally in the south, the group have begun attacking Lushebere and Lukweti.

The loss of Pinga will be much more significant for the DR Congo Armed Forces, FARDC, than Goma and Bukavu combined - the strategic positioning of the city will open up the entire Walikale front for the M23.
