Only plausible scenarios that will result in an end to the war:

Scenario 1) Russia at least annexes ALL of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson.

Scenario 2) Ukraine (somehow) recaptures ALL of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, Kherson, AND Crimea.

Admin believes that one scenario is significantly more plausible than the other. There will be no peace until then.

The question then becomes- what will Trump do about this? He's clearly putting in a lot of legwork and effort to end the war, and - as we know - Trump won't be happy to see his efforts laid to waste. If and when Trump fails to secure a peace between Russia and Ukraine, he will either withdraw America completely from the Ukrainian theater (highly unlikely) or recommit even further to Ukraine in order to coerce Russia into abandoning their efforts. Although the latter scenario is significantly more likely, the potential success of that is dubious at best.

So, until then, the war will continue with no conceivable end in sight.
