The US Carrier Strike Group 11, with its flagship USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, a cruiser and four destroyers, are continuing their movement in a northwest direction directly towards the disputed Scarborough Shoal.

In the last few hours, the Chinese spy ship Liaowang-1 has arrived north of the shoal. The US vessels are being shadowed from the south by four Chinese Coast Guard Vessels, CCG5204, CCG5102, CCG21562 and CCG4202.
