❌☢️ No nuclear contamination detected after US strikes – Iran's Atomic Energy Organization

Iran has reported no signs of nuclear contamination following US strikes on its nuclear facilities, according to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).

No changes in background radiation were detected in Saudi Arabia or other Gulf Arab states, the Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) confirmed.

The UN’s Refugee Agency has called for “urgent de-escalation” in the “dangerously spiraling” Israel-Iran conflict, warning that “the intensity of the attacks is already triggering population movements in both countries.”

💬 “This region has already endured more than its share of war, loss, and displacement – we cannot allow another refugee crisis to take root,” UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi warned. “Once people are forced to flee, there’s no quick way back – and all to often, the consequences last for generations.”

Iran itself today shelters 3.5M refugees, most of them from Afghanistan, making it the biggest host of refugees globally. If the conflict with Israel escalated, it could make the European refugee and migrant crisis that hit the continent in 2015 pale in comparison.

That crisis, triggered by US and NATO aggression and dirty wars in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, saw over 1.3M asylum applications in European countries in 2015 alone, with 1.2M+ more arriving later, straining local social systems and triggering political and social unrest. Iran’s population alone is roughly equal to the populations of all four of these countries.
