For 872 days, Leningrad was cut off from the outside world. Nazi forces encircled the city, launching the deadliest and longest blockade in history. Within the first few weeks, food supplies were depleted, leading to extreme famine. Glue, cellulose, shoe soles - anything consumable was used as food. About 1.1 million people died during the siege, most of them starved to death.
Lidia Sudina and Dmitry Buchkin witnessed air raids, bombardment, and starvation as children. Hear their recollection of the ordeal in our documentary, Leningrad Siege Reflections.

‘I’ve filmed all sorts of things before from deadly protests to funerals, so I didn’t expect to get this emotional today,’ RT Documentary’s Marina Kosareva describes her visits to temporary housing locations for Donbass refugees in the southern city of Rostov-on-Don and in the Moscow region.
Rehab centres, summer camps, sports halls, private houses, and a church are all temporary housing. Ordinary people host friends and relatives who had to flee their homes too.
These centres receive humanitarian aid, and refugees are offered psychological help. ‘Very sad to watch people live like this, especially with kids.’
Here’s a sneak peek at Marina’s upcoming documentary. Stay tuned. It will be available at RTD.RT.com and odysee.com/@RTDocumentary:4

In Donetsk, the shelling doesn’t stop for a minute. Residents now have a pressing need for humanitarian aid. Volunteers risk their lives carrying basic necessities. Among the volunteers is the Donetsk blogger Andrei Lysenko. People from all over the world send Andrei money to buy food to deliver to the villages. The RT Documentary team also collected humanitarian aid for Donbass and the crew (director Oleg Nekishev, correspondent Vyacheslav Guz and cameraman Vladimir Lipatov) went to film the blogger at work.
First, Andrei and our team went to the Trudovskoye settlement. There, right after they handed the food out, the shelling began. Andrei and our team were trapped and unable to leave the area for some time.
When they moved on, they went to Yelenovka settlement, and the situation repeated. Fortunately, no one was injured. You can see when the team hid from shelling in Trudovskoye and came under fire on their way out of Yelenovka.

Who are the Americans who volunteer to fight for Ukraine?
RT correspondent Konstantin Rozhkov @spetscorr knows one of them personally.
In 2020, Konstantin met Michael Dunn, one of the leaders of the Boogaloo Boys. Michael is currently in Ukraine as part of a foreign legion. In his videos on TikTok, he proclaims ‘Slava Ukraine’.
The Boogaloo Boys is commonly considered a far-right white supremacy group. Although members deny these claims, saying they are just gun rights activists.
‘Michael Dunn is in his early 20s. He served in the US Marine Corps, but he was never in battle. During our interview, he posed with an M-15 rifle and said he would shoot anyone, including government officials if needed.
Even though Washington officially opposes US citizens fight for Ukraine as volunteers, it’s unlikely they’ll get upset if Michael and other radical activists don’t come back’, Konstantin writes.

Kenny Richey spent 21 and a half years waiting for the electric chair on death row. He was convicted of the murder by arson of a 2-year-old girl. Richey survived 13 execution dates, with one reprieve coming just an hour before his scheduled execution. He always maintained his innocence, and many human rights campaigners drew attention to Kenny’s case.
Some of the evidence in the investigation was eventually proven to be false, and Richey was released after accepting a plea deal.
However, not everyone was convinced of his innocence on Kenny’s release. His wife Karen claims the ex-con confessed to her he committed the crime.

At least 3,000 people were used as guinea pigs by Japan’s secret Unit 731 before and during World War II. The unit conducted gruesome experiments on humans in occupied China, infecting test subjects with diseases like plague and cholera. They were later vivisected without anaesthesia to see what the disease does.
Unit 731 was one of Japan’s biggest wartime atrocities and secrets. The Japanese government denied the unit’s existence until the late 1980s, while the unit’s ideologist, Shiro Ishii, was never punished.
