I don’t know what the Azov fighters were taking because they were going under their AGS, their SPG. Heavy shelling. An average person would hardly run towards their bursts because the chance of being hit is high,’ a Vostok battalion fighter, codenamed ‘Forest’, described the actions of Ukrainian nationalists at the Azovstal plant exclusively to RT Documentary.

The plant is enormous, covering 11 square kilometres. It has underground spaces and long tunnels where the Ukrainian military hid from the shelling. This footage shows a fighter from the Vostok battalion explaining the DNR army's tactics in overpowering Azovstal and describing how and from where the fighting was launched. He also points out the remains of ammunition, the destroyed workshop and other premises after the surrender of the Ukrainian military. This episode will be included in our new film, premiering soon.

India’s Supreme Court has recognized prostitution as a profession. Therefore, the police should refrain from intervening if a sex worker is of legal age and is participating with consent.

But not every sex worker does the job on their own. India’s Muzaffarpur red-light district is home to more than 2,500 sex workers. Most are there due to poverty or were sold, kidnapped or coerced to follow in their mothers’ footsteps. Watch the story of Chandini, who was sold into prostitution by her parents in our video.

To learn more about the dark business, including prostitution and people trafficking, watch the documentary film Dance, Sex, Dance.

Some Ukrainian soldiers located in the industrial zone wanted to leave. They got already tired of this war. They were ready to go to prison but not to fight’, says the LPR militiaman with the callsign Yugoslav. He says the Ukrainians who decided to lay down their arms were shot by their own side. ‘We assigned them a rallying point, and before adjusting the equipment for evacuation, they worked out Grads at this rally point. ‘Ukrops' fired the Grads on their soldiers’.

Yugoslav joined the LPR militia in 2014. Then he got his callsign because he fought in Yugoslavia in the 90s. The man is one of the characters in the new RT Documentary film about the Lugansk People’s Republic. Wait for the premiere.

June 1 is Children's Day. Today is also the Global Day of Parents, established by the UN ten years ago to mark parents’ commitment.

On this day, we have a video about Kristina Yevtushenko from the Chelyabinsk region. At 19, after the death of her parents, she refused to send her five brothers and sister to an orphanage. Instead, she left her studies in the city, returned to the countryside and became the head of the family. The younger brother was then only four years old.

The young girl had a house and livestock to look after. Kristina milks, mows, repairs, and cleans from early morning until night in the film. How does she live now? See our post.

The entire Big Sister is in our film Telegram channel.

In 2014, the city of Slavyansk in the Donetsk region was being fought over by Kiev-controlled security forces and local militias who did not recognise the new Kiev authorities. ‘We wanted to secure our city against being invaded by pro-Nazi elements,’ Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, the former people’s mayor of Slavyansk, told us.

The militia took control of the town in time. The Ukrainian military then tried to retake it without thinking about civilian casualties. They hit straight at residential buildings. June 1 2014, was one of the most challenging days in the military chronicle of Slavyansk. After artillery shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces, one of the Slavyansk Heavy Engineering Plant workshops caught fire. Another shell hit an orphanage whose pupils had been evacuated just the day before.

An excerpt from our documentary Donbass War: Summer 2014 is about how Slavyansk residents defended their hometown.

Qatar is hosting the coming FIFA World Cup. This tiny rich Gulf country will provide eight large stadiums, 7 of which are built from scratch.

We have flexibility in terms of rebuilding the whole thing as a 40,000 stadium’, said the new stadium project manager Mohammed. Stadiums have to be easily transformed after the championship is gone as they would be too large for Qatar’s three million population.

What challenges did Qatar face preparing to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup? Watch our video to learn it.

The whole story about how Qatar is going to astound the fans and how it’s spending a billion dollars preparing for the next World Cup is in the documentary film Qatar 2022: Football Fever.

Such cruelty! For absolutely no reason, they [Ukrainian soldiers] were shooting people in their legs, shoulders, arms! They were deliberately holding people — children, women, elderly — at their positions,’ says Adam Delimkhanov, a Russian State Duma deputy. Together with Chechen compatriots, he takes part in Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.

Soldiers of Chechen units say the situation in Ukraine is familiar to Chechen people. They have gone through a war with extremists and terrorists and have vast experience dealing with them. That is why Chechens consider it their duty to help and participate in the special operation: ‘No matter how hard it is for our special forces, we’ll complete our tasks, secure areas block by block, save civilians, and eradicate the Nazis.'

This video is an excerpt from our premiere of Battle for Freedom: Akhmat Special Forces about the role of Chechen soldiers in the Russian special operation.

June 2 is considered to be the birthday of Baikonur. This is the first and largest operating spaceport in the world. It was built in the Kazakh desert more than 65 years ago. Construction was the pacification of nature. In winter, it was terribly cold: the sand froze one and a half meters. And in summer, the air heated up to 50 degrees.

It was from Baikonur that Yuri Gagarin set off on his first manned flight. But unfortunately, he was never destined to rise into orbit twice. Seven years after his legendary flight, he died in a plane crash.

Watch our video to learn about the first Soviet cosmonaut. The entire film Gagarin is posted on the Telegram channel.

‘There was a photo made after that attack [by the Ukrainian military] of Inna Kukurudza, a woman with red hair. Both her legs were blown off’.

After seeing that terrible footage, former US corporal Russell Bentley decided to go to protect the residents of Donbass from the Ukrainian army. ‘I’m going to avenge the murder of these innocent civilians’, Russell told our crew in 2021.

On June 2, 2014, Ukraine launched an airstrike on the administration of Lugansk. As a result, eight civilians were killed, and 28 more were injured. For the chronology of those events, watch the film Donbass: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.

During the fierce fighting for Mariupol, people from various professions were forced to take up arms. ‘Some are miners, security guards. A journalist is here. Electricians, drivers’, told us Mariupol residents. Those who went to fight say the desire to protect their people from the atrocities of the Ukrainian military was stronger than fear.

June 4 is the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. The purpose of the day is to pay attention to children’s rights who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. This problem is acute in the West African country of Togo. Almost a third of the population lives below the poverty line. As a result, many families have to send their children to work from an early age. Кids do heavy labour, which is intended for strong men. They work in quarries and mines. The conditions are often deadly and close to slavery.

I have an agreement with the parents of children who work here. They start at 7 am and work till noon. Then they take a break and continue from 2 pm till 4 pm.,’ said Bernard Kpodzro Kokou, the enterprise owner, where children crush stones into gravel with hammers.

They told us who really tortured them, who used them as human shields. These Nazis, these fascists. How they’d get shot in the back, how children were shot.’

Daniil Martynov takes part in Russia’s special operation in Ukraine as one of the commanders of a Chechen unit. Daniil says his fighters encounter frightened civilians when liberating territory from Ukrainian forces. They’re afraid of any military because they have suffered a lot from Ukrainian fighters. But after talking to Russian soldiers and receiving humanitarian aid, people change their minds. Daniil said his soldiers never started fights in populated areas and stayed away from civilians, unlike the Ukrainian nationalists.

June 5 is World Environment Day. On this day, we want to tell you a story from Zimbabwe, where hundreds of elephants are killed by poachers.

Roxy Danckwerts founded the Wild is Life wildlife sanctuary at her family farm. She and her staff nurse orphaned baby elephants. They wouldn’t be able to survive in the wild but get a second chance at Roxy’s sanctuary.

When we have a new baby, we will often hang a blanket, and the baby will go into there thinking it’s the shape of the mother and put his head up to suckle,’ says Roxy.

Do these infants have an opportunity to return to the wild? Watch the clip and documentary When an Elephant Smiles to find out.
