‘My job is to film. But if those punks come and try anything, I’ll cover the guys, sure.’ Andrey Filatov, a war correspondent, has been in the trenches with Russian soldiers for a year and a half. Fighters trust him – he has become one of their own during this time. Andrey doesn’t only film, he always does what he can to help – for example, by finding the most effective solutions for different problems.

The reporter values the fighters’ lives, and will never hesitate if the commander says to stop filming and leave immediately – he knows any delay could cost them a lot. Learn more about Filatov in an excerpt from the documentary, ‘War Correspondents 2: 'Birdman' and 'Good Girl' Olya’.

🇬🇧Londoners continue to destroy cameras installed within the city’s controversial Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). The Metropolitan Police recorded 288 attacks between April and August.

After the recent expansion introduced by London mayor Sadiq Khan, ULEZ covers all 32 boroughs. People with cars that do not meet the requirements will have to pay £12.50 a day to drive within the zone.

Do you think the expansion is justified?

🦈Sharks nearly devoured these sailors! Predators attacked a Russian catamaran's crew in the Pacific Ocean. On September 4th, a shark damaged the vessel, causing it to be partially submerged. However, the adventurers managed to hold on for about a day.

The next day, they were again attacked by sharks, and the catamaran began to sink. Just 45 minutes after sending an SOS signal, they were rescued by a cargo ship.

The crew's circumnavigation expedition has been ongoing for two years. They plan to follow the routes of great Russian explorers and visit 40 countries. Watch their previous journey in 'Sailing Seven Seas' (2021).

🤯More than 47 tons of drugs are in bananas. This enormous quantity of prohibited substances was discovered by the Ecuadorian police last year. Cartels have found a new method of distribution — containers with bananas.

Criminals are taking control of banana plantations, intimidating the police, and killing innocent people. In the first half of 2023, 3658 people died due to drug smuggling. 'They have ruined our country,' says Ecuadorian resident Dalia Chang.

In Brazil, cartels transport drugs along the Amazon River. Criminals force people out of their homes and kill those who resist. Learn more in our film, 'The Cocaine River' (2023).

🫣This shocking footage from Brooklyn went viral. This is J’Ouvert: the West Indian and African Day parade. With colorful dresses and made-up faces, there was also sexualized dancing in front of festival participants—including children. Originally, the carnival was supposed to celebrate the culture and heritage of the Caribbean. Do you think it still lives up to its original purpose? See the video and share your point of view.

By the way, people online have noted one positive: this time the event went by without a single murder, although several were shot and wounded.

📍In Rio's favelas, children are in constant danger. They are often caught up in violence between the police and drug traffickers. Even going to school in the morning can be unsafe - shootings don't occur according to a timetable.

Besides, as drug gangs wield the most influence in favelas, the disadvantaged youth are easy targets for recruitment to the cartels. The teenage subject of our video, Juan, has already been to prison for associating with criminals. It's extremely hard to grow up a decent person in such conditions. How do some people manage to escape this life of crime? Find out in our video, and the documentary 'FavelaLive' (2017).

▶️‘He said, "For God's sake, don't kill me." But I did not listen, and slaughtered him.’ 15-year-old Fares recalls his time serving the jihadists. He was recruited by Jabhat al-Nusra* as a teen and trained to be a killing machine. Fares was forced to use weapons, engage in combat and act as a human shield or suicide bomber.

Many young people have similar stories. Tens of thousands have been lured and recruited by terrorists. Not only teens and men have fallen victims of the ideology. Plenty of women end up marrying radical militants. Are they forced, or do they do it voluntarily? In our premiere, ‘Lost Souls’, find out what they endured in the war-ravaged cities of Syria, and how they eventually managed to escape.
