Brazilian families go hungry due to severe drought
Footage shows how Amazonas, a state in Brazil, looks now. Just months after floods that destroyed crops, thousands of Brazilian families are struggling with drought, which they haven't experienced since 1930.
As most of Amazonas is not connected by roads, food, fuel and other goods are normally transported through waterways. But now ships cannot reach the settlements as the water sources became muddy and unpassable after the flood and drought. ‘We fear our children will get sick with diarrhea and other diseases,’ says Anilton Braz, a local.

The video went viral, sparking outrage online among users: 'I just DO NOT understand the parents who willingly expose their kids to this crap. Nah, I don't WANT to understand,' said one.
However, the graphic performance doesn't seem to bother anyone in the video. Parents are seen smiling while their children are clapping their hands.
The location is not identified, but some users suggested the event was sponsored by a popular chain of movie theaters, operating across the USA.
It seems, local authorities don't care...

Should there be abortion in the US? This question has divided America for decades. Over the summer, the Supreme Court allowed states to decide for themselves whether American women can terminate pregnancies or not. Many states passed legislation banning abortions, even for rape victims.
U.S. President Joe Biden has come out in favor of abortion. He has promised that he will veto any law banning American women from terminating their pregnancies. However, if the Republicans win congressional elections in November, the battle between the pro-life and pro-choice camps will intensify.

Footage shows thousands of French protesting against NATO's policy of anti-Russian sanctions this weekend. The opposition party Les Patriotes is criticising Paris' position towards the armed conflict in Ukraine, especially the economic restrictions against Russia.
The supporters of the party were marching through the centre of the French capital, holding banners reading: 'Refuse this US/NATO proxy war with Ukraine to take down Russia and sell Shale Gas to EU' and 'End of anti-Russian actions! No to confinement and energy rationing'.
Protesters were also chanting 'Macron, your war, we don’t want it!' and burning smoke torches.

Climate activists threw chocolate cake at King Charles’ wax figure in Madame Tussauds museum, London. Nearby figures of William, Kate and Camilla also got their ‘piece of cake,’ too. The activists were arrested for criminal damage.
The protesters belong to the notorious Just Stop Oil group, which we've reported on earlier in this post. The activists claimed the museum protest actions was in retaliation for King Charles III reportedly abandoning plans to deliver a speech at the UN Climate Changes Conference in November.
Such protests are happening not just in the United Kingdom. In Germany, climate protesters tossed mashed potatoes at a Monet painting that sold for $110 million. ‘We are in a climate catastrophe. And all you’re afraid of is mashed potatoes on a painting. This painting is not going to be worth anything if we have to fight over food,’ said one of the protesters after throwing potato soup on a piece of art and gluing herself to the wall.
The work by Monet was undamaged and will be back on display on Wednesday. Watch our video to see the outrages for yourself.

The armed man, who police identified as Orlando Harris, entered the Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis with the words, ‘You are all going to die!’ He fatally shot a teacher and a teenage girl, and wounded seven others before police killed him.
Harris, who was 19, graduated from the St. Louis school last year. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, but it is suspected that the young man was experiencing mental illness.
‘It could have been a whole lot worse,’ said Police Chief Michael Sack after it was revealed that Harris had nearly a dozen high-capacity magazines of ammunition with him.
Several eyewitnesses recounted near-miss confrontations with the shooter, when for some reason he pointed the gun away, letting people go. Meanwhile his photos and videos with the sound of gunshots reportedly from the scene of the crime are circulating online.
According to Education Week, the school shooting was the 40th this year resulting in injuries or death.
