💰Authorities will pay US transgenders $1,200 a month. What for?

San Francisco has launched a guaranteed income program, which, in addition to money, will provide trans residents with gender-transition treatment, mental-health care and financial coaching.

‘Trans San Franciscans experience poverty at exponentially higher rates compared to the general population,’ said Pau Crego, an executive director of the San Francisco Office of Transgender Initiatives. That comment enraged ordinary citizens. ‘Actual poor and homeless people are still being pushed aside,’ wrote one net user. ‘So, we can do this for the trans community, but not for veterans who contributed to society,' remarked another.

Indeed, US veterans’ life is tough. Many of those who took part in a war return home with post-traumatic stress disorder and deep depression. And there’s nobody to help them. Seeing no other way, former servicemen get addicted to drugs and alcohol. Some even commit suicide.

Why doesn’t America take care of them? Find out in US Veterans: Not Forgotten.

Mormon church voices support for gay marriages.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has opposed recognition of same-sex marriage for years, has now come out in their support. They explain their new position as a more welcoming stance toward the LGBTQ community.

Meanwhile, different Christian denominations continue to argue over the issue, with many adamant in the belief that same-sex marriage is a sin.

I used to go to an LGBTQ church, and at the same time the Lord opened my eyes. Homosexuality is an abomination. God made man and woman...’ claims Elijah Harrod, an evangelist and ex-transgender woman. Harrod believes one of the main reasons people join the LGBTQ+ movement is due to sexual abuse they had experienced in their childhood. The man is a subject of our documentary Pride and Piety. Watch it and listen to his and other Americans’ views over the controversial issue.

The sinking state of Tuvalu will create its own online copy.

This will preserve our borders, attractions and culture. 'As our land disappears, we have no choice but to become the first digital nation,' said Foreign Minister Simon Kofe.

The area of Tuvalu is 30 square kilometers with a population of about 12,000 people. Already, during high tides, 40% of the capital region goes underwater, and in 80 years the ocean may completely absorb Tuvalu.

The island of Migingo in Africa suffers from another problem - overpopulation. More than 100 people live on territory that is half the size of a football field. Why don't the citizens want to leave there? Watch our documentary Migingo: The Iron-clad Island we posted earlier.

It’s known that patrons in the gay club shooting hit the gunman with his own weapon.

When Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, opened fire at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, one of the visitors rushed into action, grabbed a gun from the attacker and neutralized him. ‘Had that individual not intervened this could have been exponentially more tragic,’ said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers. The shooter, however, still managed to kill five and injure 25 people. Investigators were still determining a motive and whether to prosecute it as a hate crime, authorities said.

Saturday’s tragedy is the 26th mass shooting event in the US this month, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Over a span of 8 years the number of such tragedies have doubled to 601 this year.

Ukrainian troops often shell this road as it’s used to transport military equipment. This time our war correspondents, who have long been in the crosshairs of the nationalists, came under fire by accident. A hunt has been declared for them.

Now RT Documentary's military filmmaker Vyacheslav Guz is preparing an episode about the work of RT correspondent Murad Gazdiev. How do they work on the front line? That’s what our new film will be about. Premiere is soon.

Hebe de Bonafini, searcher for Argentina's missing children, has passed away at the age of 93.

Hebe de Bonafini was co-founder and president of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo group. Their mission is to help bring home the children who disappeared during Argentina’s Dirty War.

From 1976 to 1983, Argentina was ruled by a junta. People who disagreed with the military dictatorship were kidnapped, tortured and executed, and their kids were given away to loyal friends and colleagues.

In April 1977, mothers and grandmothers of the missing gathered for the first time at Plaza de Mayo, the central square of Buenos Aires.

'All the ministers, all of them, were in on our children’s murders. How can I make peace with a murderer? I neither forgive nor forget!', de Bonafini, whose two sons were also kidnapped by the military members, once declared.

Find more about the woman in an excerpt from our Argentinian DNA: The Fracture.
