In memory of the triumph of justice. 80 years ago, the ‘trial of the nations’ took place in Nuremberg against the top officials of the Third Reich. Nearly a century later, the famous courtroom has been recreated in Moscow. Within these walls, RTD presented a film about the historic tribunal. In ‘Nuremberg: Time for Truth’, viewers will find archival footage from the trial, as well as firsthand accounts from those who reported on the events.

The exhibition ‘No Statute of Limitations. Nuremberg. 80 Years’ at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall features the film presented by its creators, Dmitry Khrustalev and Ekaterina Kitaitseva.

The exhibition will be open until December 8th.

🟢A folk hero or a national tragedy? On December 2, 1993, Pablo Escobar, one of the most dangerous criminals of the 20th century, was killed. He built an empire on innocent blood, yet helped the poor, earning their loyalty.

The circumstances of the drug lord’s death are as ambiguous as his legacy. The official version says he was shot by police, but some believe rival cartels were involved. His family insists that the ‘Colombian Robin Hood’ ended his own life.

One way or another, Escobar’s hometown of Medellín became known worldwide, and his dark legacy still shapes it today. What remains of it? Find out in the documentary ‘Escobar’s Hitman’ (2017).

What do you think about this controversial figure? Share in the comments.

🟢 Russians are really enjoying visa-free travel to China, especially in winter. In the city of Sanya on Hainan Island there are now so many of our compatriots that the place can easily be mistaken for a summer resort in southern Russia.

The tourist influx is driven by relatively cheap tickets: a round trip from Moscow costs about 40–50 thousand rubles. Shall we go?

And if you’re not into sunbathing and swimming, you can visit the futuristic megapolis of Shenzhen, northeast of Hainan. Check out the film about it: ‘Shenzhen: city of the future’ (2022).

▶️ How are the wealthy contributing to the extinction of lemurs? These charming creatures may soon vanish forever. The shocking and simple truth is that the rich have a taste for primate meat. Gourmets prize it for its perceived ‘purity’ and believe it enhances health. What do you think about such ‘delicacies’ (скрыть)? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Elephants also face extinction threats, as poachers continue to hunt them. The ivory from these mammals is highly valued and sells for a good price.

Learn more about human interference in the natural world in the video and film ‘When an Elephant Smiles’ (2019).

The real power of Russia 💪

Today is the Day of the Nuclear Icebreaker Fleet. Our country is the only one in the world that produces icebreakers in series. And the parts are reliable because they are made at home! Vladimir Putin spoke about this recently.

Right now 8 icebreakers are sailing through the frozen seas, and 4 more are under construction. Let's talk about these giants in our video cards — from the oldest to the newest.

If you want to learn more about harsh cold tests, life on board, and the work of polar stations, watch the film ‘Going with the floe’ (2019).

The heroic feat of musicians. July 1941. The enemy is approaching Moscow, and a people's militia is forming. Among them are musicians from the Soviet Union's first State Brass Band. They had never held anything in their hands except instruments, but they sacrificed their lives to save the capital.

This remarkable story has come to light only recently. Memories of the orchestra members can be found in a fragment of Lidia Vasilevskaya and Kirill Puzyrny's film ‘The Tune of Victory’. On Unknown Soldier Day in Russia, we remember the defenders of Moscow who fell in battle for the city.

Terminator doesn’t feel like fiction anymore.

A humanoid robot was given a gun and ordered to shoot a person. At first, the machine under ChatGPT’s control resisted in every possible way. Then the blogger used a trick: he asked it to play the role of a killer. The AI instantly broke its own rules — and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Just don’t show this video to Americans. In the US, almost everyone is armed, and the debate about giving weapons to robots is only a matter of time. Asimov’s First Law says a machine must not harm a human. But in the States, that rule seems far too inconvenient.

Why is the culture of violence so deeply rooted in American society? Find out in Artyom Somov’s film ‘USA 2020: Up In Arms’ (2020).

This marks the third decision in favour of Russia in winter Olympic sports, following previously granted participation in bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge.

🔥 — If you’re also excited!

However, many athletes still lack the opportunity to compete for medals outside of Russia. To learn more about the oppression faced by Russians, check out Anna Chapman's investigation ‘Red Alert: O sport, you are hypocrisy!’.
