Lay off mens’ fish pics bro!
In a world where we’re all pulled away from serenity, nature and the outdoors, I’d like to highlight how much FUCKING EFFORT it takes to carve out time for any hobby or self care. We’re in a culture where men are taught to compartmentalize feelings straight out the woom, and that dead/dying fish in the photograph represents a desperate clawing effort to connect with the dim light of our dying joy.
Secondly, have you all any idea how hard it is to catch a fish!? So hard!! I’ve been fishing for 30 years and I have no idea what the fish are thinking or where they’re hanging out, despite always reading and trying to improve.
Lastly, for most people who have taken the time to learn to fish, if the fish is out of the water being photographed, it’s likely going to be eaten. It’s food. If you can’t look at a dead fish then I’m just not sure how you survive a visit to the grocery store.
Do we need to introduce another layer of insecurity for the sad population that is men on dating sites? My lord, isn’t it pathetic enough without shaming our final sliver of pride and joy?
