Not quite Skynet: Tallinn delivery robots get stuck in 1 inch of snow
Some appeared to be making an effort to move, but others realized the ultimate futility of existence and decided not to bother.
Who would have guessed that the way to defeat a future robot uprising would be some mildly inclement weather?

India wants to REGULATE crypto rather than ban them outright, Indian media says.
Last month, New Delhi sent the domestic digital market plummeting as it announced plans to ban private virtual currencies.
India’s television network NDTV says the government circulated a note on the proposed bill, which says private cryptocurrencies will be regulated and will not be recognized as legal currency in India.
The legislation is also reported to describe cryptocurrencies as crypto assets that will be overseen by the country’s market watchdog, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Anti-vaxxers are society’s grumbling ‘appendix’, German comedian claims
A comedian has landed in hot water after joking that right-wingers and anti-vaxxers are the “appendix” of society, so can be removed without issue. However, she’s been accused of rhetoric straight out of the “Nazi playbook.”
Sarah Bosetti, who hosts a satirical podcast on German public broadcast network ZDF, made the controversial remarks in the latest episode on Friday, before doubling down on them on her Twitter.
In the clip, she rants about the emergence of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, as well as about those who are resistant to getting a jab.

WH medical adviser Anthony Fauci has apparently downplayed Omicron’s virulence
“Though it’s too early to really make any definitive statements about it thus far, it does not look like there’s a great degree of severity to it,” Fauci said on Sunday in a CNN interview. He added that more review is needed to confirm that the new Covid strain causes less illness than other variants, such as Delta, “but thus far, the signals are a bit encouraging.”

Trump celebrates huge cash haul for his social media with message to Big Tech
Investors have committed to pump $1 billion into Donald Trump’s new social media business, giving the former president a cash horde to battle the likes of Twitter and Facebook for users.
“$1 billion sends an important message to Big Tech that censorship and political discrimination must end,” Trump said in a statement on Saturday. He added that a beefed-up balance sheet will position his Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) start-up to “fight back against the tyranny of Big Tech.”

IMF urges world’s richest countries to save poorest
The IMF warned that 60% of the world’s poorest nations are at high risk of, or already in, debt distress, double the share in 2015.
“Low-income countries will find it increasingly difficult to service their debts,” as the G20’s debt service suspension initiative is expiring at the end of the year and interest rates are poised to rise, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and the head of the strategy, policy, and review department, Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, said in a blog post on Thursday.
They added: “We may see economic collapse in some countries unless G20 creditors agree to accelerate debt restructurings and suspend debt service while the restructurings are being negotiated.”
