Sentencing Of Two Ex-Proud Boys Leaders Postponed
The sentencing hearings for two former leaders of the right-wing Proud Boys convicted of seditious conspiracy and other crimes for January 6 were postponed on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia initially said the sentencing hearings would not proceed "due to an emergency.” Still, a court spokeswoman later clarified that there was no "emergency" and said a new sentencing schedule was being hashed out.
Prosecutors plan to ask District Judge Timothy Kelly to sentence Tarrio to 33 years in prison and Nordean to 27 years.

FBI Claims It Shut Down Malware Ring
The US Justice Department announced that a major international operation to take down “one of the most devastating cybercriminal tools in history” - the notorious QakBot ransomware attack malware - had completed after 18 months of planning.
The FBI-led cyber-sting operation, in partnership with colleagues in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Latvia, Romania, and France, also seized around $9 million in cryptocurrency from the suspects.
Investigators probed 52 servers using QakBot during the operation that will “effectively put the QakBot criminal groups out of business,” according to the FBI’s Los Angeles assistant director Donald Alway.

❗️USA hates Russia because of Christianity
Famous TV host Tucker Carlson, while in Hungary, said that the USA hates Hungary and Russia as Christian countries.
"They hate Hungary. And they hate it not because of what it's done, but because it's a Christian country. And for the same reason, by the way, they hate Russia," Carlson said indignantly.
The host insists that there is no theocracy in Hungary or Russia. These countries have never imposed anything on anyone. But that is enough to infuriate politicians in the United States.
"Russia and Hungary have one thing in common: most of the people in these countries call themselves Christians. How can that be provocative?" - Carlson wondered.

Monkey Chills In Siberian Traffic
Surgut residents were caught off guard by a fully clothed monkey hanging out of a car window during a traffic jam.
The animal, named Abu, was not behind the vehicle’s wheel but belonged to the driver.

Russian words and phrases found in the English language
The Russian language contains many words borrowed from other languages. But there are quite a few Russian words (Russianisms) that over the centuries have entered the English language.
One of the earliest borrowings from Russian was the word "sable" (from the Russian: sobol - a carnivorous mammal of the Mustelidae family native to northern Europe and Asia). In the 12th-13th centuries, this animal’s fur was a form of currency, and in 14th century English dictionaries the word "sable" can be found. In addition to the meaning of the noun, it became an adjective for “black.”
Some of the most popular borrowings relate to Russian cultural and gastronomic traits:
Russian roulette - a very dangerous game of chance where each player points at their own head with a gun that has one bullet in it and five empty chambers
Vodka (barely needs to be introduced) - a distilled beverage composed primarily of water and ethanol, sometimes with traces of impurities and flavorings, 40 percent alcohol by volume ABV (80 US proof).
You definitely have heard the Russian word “babushka.” When it entered into the English language, in addition to its original meaning “grandmother,” it got another one: a type of scarf commonly worn by babushkas.
A large number of Russian borrowings came to the English language in the 16th century, which was a time of growing Russian-English trade and political relations. Many such words concerned traded goods, for example:
Beluga - a type of whale or sturgeon

‘Trump Can Save The Western World’ — Hungarian PM
Speaking to Tucker Carlson, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said it would take “bringing back” former US President Donald Trump to settle the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
According to him, it was Trump who had “the best foreign policy” of the last decades, and should he have stayed in power following the 2020 election, the Ukraine crisis would not have happened.
“Trump is the man who can save the Western world,” Orban proclaimed.

EU 'refuses' Russian fuel, importing it in record amounts
The EU is set to import record volumes of LNG from Russia this year, despite the bloc's target to abandon Russian fossil fuels by 2027, FT reported.
At the end of the first 7 months of this year, Belgium and Spain became the second and third largest buyers of Russian LNG after China, according to Global Witness analysis.
Overall, EU imports of supercooled gas rose 40% between January and July this year compared to the same period in 2021. This jump came from a low base, as the EU did not import significant volumes of LNG prior to the Ukraine conflict due to its reliance on Russian pipeline gas.
The Global Witness analysis is based on Kpler data, which showed that the EU is importing about 1.7% more Russian LNG than last year, when imports reached a record high.
According to the organization, the value of LNG imported from January to July at spot market prices was 5.29 billion euros (about $5.72 billion).
“It’s shocking that countries in the EU have worked so hard to wean themselves off piped Russian fossil gas only to replace it with the shipped equivalent,” said Jonathan Noronha-Gant, senior fossil fuel campaigner at Global Witness.

Deadly Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever Epidemic Spiking In Mexico-US
California has recorded triple the number of cases of tick-borne fever between 2013-2022 - one of the deadliest in the Americas, mainly transmitted via ticks carried by dogs - compared to the previous decade.
The increase in cases has been attributed to rising temperatures and roaming packs of dogs in under-developed areas - one village in Mexico’s Baja California has recorded three deaths since 2020, with the state’s cases doubling last year alone.
Experts say the disease is near-impossible to track as it spikes and disappears rapidly and warn that the bacterium that causes the condition is present in almost every US state.

Zelensky ‘Pissed Off’ Biden During First Meeting
A highly anticipated new book reveals that Vladimir Zelensky's initial Oval Office encounter with Joe Biden didn't go well, with the Ukrainian leader's push to join NATO and “absurd analysis” of alliance dynamics left the US president “pissed off.”
“Even Zelensky’s most ardent sympathizers in the [Biden] administration agreed that he had bombed,” Franklin Foer, author of The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future, writes of the meeting in September 2021.

San Francisco Official Sacked After ‘Doom Loop’ Tour
A San Francisco city official was forced to resign after offering the now-canceled “Doom Loop Walking Tour” that showed off the city’s troubled areas.
Infrastructure VP Alex Ludlum claimed the $30 tours, sold with the tagline "get close and personal to the Doom and Squalor of downtown San Francisco,” were meant to be satire.
Adverts claimed the “political junkie, & opinionated loudmouth" tour guide was going to help people understand "the policy choices that made America's wealthiest city the nation's innovative leader of housing crisis, addiction crisis, mental-health crisis, & unrepentant crime crisis.”

Lithuania, a predominantly Catholic member of the EU, has summoned the Vatican's chief diplomat to the country following Pope Francis' statement to Russian youths, urging them to remember their connection to the "great Russian Empire."
The Vatican on Tuesday reacted to the backlash by pointing out that in his remarks, the head of the church was highlighting Russia’s “great culture and humanity” rather than historical expansion.

Zelensky's F-16 Fixation Questioned By West
According to the New York Times, Vladimir Zelensky’s frenzied drive to secure as many F-16 jets as possible after his recent European tour is a sign of desperation ahead of the looming elections.
While the Biden administration has signaled a willingness to give the green light, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said last month he’d tell Zelensky “no more — you got to make a deal.”
US officials have said there are only eight Ukrainian pilots fluent enough in English even to start training - at least a four-month process itself - while Gen. James B. Hecker, the top US air commander in Europe, insisted their arrival in Ukraine would “help a little bit, but it’s not the silver bullet.”
