Zelensky's F-16 Fixation Questioned By West

According to the New York Times, Vladimir Zelensky’s frenzied drive to secure as many F-16 jets as possible after his recent European tour is a sign of desperation ahead of the looming elections.

While the Biden administration has signaled a willingness to give the green light, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said last month he’d tell Zelensky “no more — you got to make a deal.”

US officials have said there are only eight Ukrainian pilots fluent enough in English even to start training - at least a four-month process itself - while Gen. James B. Hecker, the top US air commander in Europe, insisted their arrival in Ukraine would “help a little bit, but it’s not the silver bullet.”

Teacher Boots Out Middle-Schooler For ‘Slavery’ Backpack Badge

A Colorado middle-schooler was reportedly kicked out of class by his teacher who claimed a badge on his backpack that read ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ had origins in slavery, despite the boy’s mother explaining its roots were from the Revolutionary War.

State Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat, defended the boy, tweeting: “The Gadsden flag is a proud symbol of the American revolution and an iconic warning to Britain or any government not to violate the liberties of Americans.”

School directors insisted that the Gadsen Flag - which shows the slogan below a coiled snake - was only part of the issue, given other badges showing semi-automatic weapons. Still, they reversed their ban after a public backlash.

Burger King Telling Whoppers: Lawsuit Over Fake Supersizing Menu

Fast food giant Burger King has slammed a lawsuit claiming it has misled customers over the size of its Whopper burger on menu pictures as false, after earlier claiming it didn’t have to deliver burgers that look “exactly like the picture.”

The class action lawsuit claims the chain made Whoppers appear 35% larger and contain twice as much meat as reality, but Burger King insists it uses the same patties in adverts and restaurants.

US District Judge Roy Altman said jurors should leave it to "tell us what reasonable people think.”

California Moves Closer To Historic Caste Discrimination Ban

California moved closer to becoming the first US state to ban caste discrimination by adding it to the categories protected under the state's anti-discrimination laws.

The bill was introduced and authored by state Senator Aisha Wahab, an Afghan American Democrat, in March. An earlier version of it passed the state Senate before undergoing revisions.

The state Assembly passed the bill on Monday with a near-unanimous vote. The revised version will now move back for a voice to the state Senate, where it is expected to pass before heading to the desk of California Governor Gavin Newsom to be signed into law.
