⚡️Poland explosions spark talks of new #UkraineCrisis escalation

A deadly explosion took place Tuesday at a grain processing facility in Poland near the border with Ukraine, killing two people, according to Polish media outlets. Poland, which is a NATO member country has called for an emergency meeting.

The Associated Press cited a senior U.S. intelligence official as saying the blast in the eastern Polish village of Przewodow was caused by Russian missiles crossing into Poland.
❗️Despite neither Poland nor U.S. so far condemned Russia for Poland explosions allegedly caused by missile strikes near Ukrainian border, Ukrainian top officials didn’t think twice to condemn Russia and call on allies “to act”.

Zelensky said “hitting NATO territory” is "a very significant escalation", adding "we need to act."

A similar statement came from the head of the Office, President Andrey Ermak, who wrote “As I said before - they don't think to stop in Ukraine”.

⚡️⚡️ Key updates on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on November 16

🔴No Article 5, for now
A missile that killed two people in Poland was probably not fired from Russia, U.S. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday after holding talks with leaders of Western allies pouring cold water on the idea of NATO invoking Article 5.

Earlier on Wednesday, Polish President Andrzej Duda said: “We do not have conclusive evidence at this time of who launched the missile,” although he said the missile was “probably” Russian-made. He added an investigation was ongoing. According to U.S. officials, initial findings suggested that the missile that hit Poland was fired by Ukrainian forces at an incoming Russian missile, the Associated Press said.

The explosion on Tuesday at a grain facility near the Ukrainian border came as Russia renewed its strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure on Tuesday, after Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky addressed G20 summit with a speech that Russian Foreign minister Sergey Lavrov called “Russophobic”.

Russian MoD on Tuesday evening accused Polish mass media and officials commit for committing “deliberate provocation to escalate situation”.

🧨Two-sided escalation
“Instead of peace-keeping and conflict prevention – CSDP missions' tasks set out in Article 42 of the Treaty on EU – #EUMAM Ukraine is aimed at escalation  under the #EU flag. Another step to enhance the EU involvement in the conflict in #Ukraine,” said Russian mission to the EU, commenting on EU’s newly launched mission to train Ukrainian military.

☘️Climate hypocrisy
As UN Climate Summit in Egypt (COP27) gets overshadowed by development around #UkraineCrisis, activists point out “there's some hocus-pocus going on with the emissions reduction numbers the European Union is proudly touting at the COP27 climate summit”, Politico writes.

The EU says it's one of the few parties to the Paris Agreement to actually follow the rules and beef up its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) — U.N.-speak for the promises made under the 2015 pact. The bloc's original proposal was to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by the end of the decade, but three new rule changes boost that to 57%.

🕹World of OTHER tanks
Games developer Lesta Games, which was a division of the Belarusian company Wargaming before the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, will invest $100-150 million in 2023 in the development of the projects "World of Tanks", "World of Ships", "Tanks Blitz" and new games for Russian and Belorussian markets. After being separated from “Wargaming” as a part of company’s withdrawal from Russia and Belarus, Lesta is experiencing a shortage of developers as well as a lack of infrastructure, the company may need to develop new games since Wargaming may revoke the license for Russian versions of famous games, Kommersant writes.

A Kommersant source close to Wargaming says that the company's global revenue from the World of Tanks project reached up to $800 million, while Russia and Belarus accounted for about 50%.

In Gorlovka, Sunday, speaking to locals cleaning up after Ukraine (US/UK) shelled the beautiful House of Culture using HIMARs.

These gentleman spoke about how media and Ukraine denigrates them as sub human.

It's endlessly heart breaking to encounter people--kind, intelligent, people--who are aware of how grossly media depicts them.

"We are normal people. Ukraine is shelling us nearly every day....We are simply asking for our freedom. We wanted to be allowed to speak our own language, Russian. Let us live separately, let us be with Russia, the one that helps us all around, not with Ukraine, Ukraine brought us a lot of grief."

⚔️🇷🇺🇺🇦 NEW VIDEO: Russian Missiles Strike Ukrainian Infrastructure, Ukrainian Missiles Strike Polish Farm

▪️ Russia continues its campaign targeting Ukrainian infrastructure with missiles and drones;

▪️ A recent barrage consisted of over 90 missiles, significantly degrading Ukraine's power grid;

▪️ The West has said since April Russia was running out of missiles, yet large-scale use of missiles continues;

▪️ Russia is also now using long-range precision kamikaze drones meaning Russia appears to have a growing number of long-range precision weapons;

▪️ During the recent barrage it appears at least 2 Ukrainian air defense missiles missed their targets and struck civilians in Poland;

▪️ After claiming Russia is a threat to Europe, it is a terrible irony that Ukraine is responsible for the first strike on NATO territory since Russian operations began in late February;

❗️Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow is satisfied with the final declaration of the G20 summit. He called it a "balanced text”, according to Kommersant report.

"Of course, we noted the difference in the approaches, the difference in points of view on this topic. As for the rest, of course, our experts and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and our sherpa (Svetlana.— “Kommersant") Lukash have contributed a lot for such a balanced text to appear,” Mr. Peskov said. He added that the text of the declaration will soon be published on the Kremlin's website.

Most of the G20 countries condemned Russia's military operation in Ukraine in the final statement, but the text also notes "other opinions about this situation." Also in the communique, the G20 countries noted the inadmissibility of the use of nuclear weapons and advocated the extension of the grain deal.
The news around “Poland blasts caused by Russia oh no sorry Ukrainian air defence no but still Russia is the agressor and it started the war so it is to be blamed” has clearly overshadowed G20 summit end. And the issue is being dragged forward by European politicians, Ukraine and the media. Why?

Because, probably, somebody desperately wanted, and still wants, NATO to be dragged into the conflict. The winter is nearing, and the Russian army is slowly but steadily advancing on several fronts, despite huge losses.
⚡️⚡️ Key updates on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on November 17

🇺🇦🇷🇺Peace talks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated during interaction with reporters that negotiations with Russia should be "public, not behind the scenes." He confirmed that he had received certain signals from the leaders of other countries regarding possible negotiations with the Russian side (Earlier, the Wall Street Journal, citing its sources, reported that Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, recommended that Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team start thinking about realistic requirements for negotiations with the Russian Federation, including a review of Ukraine's stated goal of returning Crimea). Zelenskystressed that Kyiv had demonstrated its readiness to sit down at the negotiating table, and said that it had been notified of a similar readiness on the part of the Russian Federation.

Kremlin reacts
The spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the US statement that regardless of the results of the investigation of the Poland incident, Russia is to be blamed. “Whatever the final conclusions may be, it is clear that the party ultimately responsible for this tragic incident is Russia, which launched a barrage of missiles on Ukraine specifically intended to target civilian infrastructure,” the statement reads.

Peskov said that in this case, it can be stated that the root cause of everything is NATO and the United States. "Americans speak in the paradigm of "if that didn’t happen, then this wouldn’t happen. Then it makes sense to backtrack, and we will see the root cause of everything — it is NATO and the United States at the helm of it,” Peskov told RIA Novosti.

🛢Oil trade on hold
Indian refiners are wary of buying Russia crude oil loading after Dec. 5 when European Union sanctions take effect, pending clarity on the proposed G7 price cap mechanism, according to sources familiar with the refiners' crude purchase plans, Reuters reports. It states Reliance Industries Ltd, operator of the world's biggest refining complex and a major customer for Russia, has not placed orders yet for Russian cargoes loading after Dec. 5, two sources familiar the refiner's purchase plans told Reuters. Neither has state-run Bharat Petroleum Corp (both companies did not respond to Reuters email seeking comments).

🌾Grain deal
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said an agreement with Russia that has allowed Ukraine to export its massive stocks of cereals by sea is likely to keep running once its first phase comes to an end on Saturday. "We have ongoing discussions and as of now I am of the opinion that this [the deal] will continue," Erdoğan told reporters in Bali, Indonesia. The Turkish leader added that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave him "some green light" on the prospects of renewing the deal when they spoke recently.

📮Russia post goes delivery
After international courier services terminated operations in Russia, some Russian retailers and manufacturers faced difficulties in supplying small batches or samples of products from abroad. State-owned Russian Post has decided to launch its commercial delivery service from China and Europe, Kommersant reports. Experts believe such a service is particularly relevant for small and medium-sized businesses. However, Russia Post will face difficulties created by Western sanctions against Russian carriers and problems with payments via SWIFT.

⚡️President Zelensky No Longer '100% Sure' Russia Behind Poland Missile Strike

Vladimir Zelensky has changed his tune after Poland and the US both said Kiev fired the missile (or missiles).

"I don't know what happened this time, we don't know 100%... We can't say what type of rocket it was based on the fragments which fell on Poland".

Straight to the point with @RT_India_official
Russian military capabilities as seen by Ukrainian media

November 14: Russia is short of missiles!
November 15: Russia fired over 100 missiles!!
November 16: “Russian” missiles hit Poland!!!
November 17: Explosions in Kyiv & Dnipro … (and Odessa, and elsewhere but reporting is slow because there is no light& internet)

Please be aware: this post is not irony, it is to document how irresponsible officials; think tanks, experts and commenters - and media quoting them - distort already complicated reality. (This, of course, applies to Russia too).

⚡️MH17 verdict

A Dutch court on Thursday convicted two Russians and one Ukrainian in absentia of the murders of 298 people who died in the 2014 downing of Ma;aysia Airlines MH17 flight over Ukraine and sentenced them to life imprisonment. One Russian was acquitted because of a lack of evidence.

Presiding Judge Hendrik Steenhuis said that evidence presented by prosecutors at a trial that lasted more than two years proved that the Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was brought down by a Buk missile fired by pro-Moscow Ukrainian fighters on July 17, 2014

Prosecutors have demanded life sentences for the suspects although the men are unlikely to serve time if convicted.

Defense lawyers say prosecutors failed to prove a BUK missile brought down the jetliner, and have brought up "alternative scenarios" such as that a Ukrainian jet shot it.

Moscow has denied all involvement. It has refused to extradite any of the suspects, saying it is illegal under Russian law.
