as you can tell i hate blockchain, ai, web3, nft's, windows, iot, ar, facial recognition, streaming services, cloud computing, big data, almost any device sold after 2010
these technologies are invasive, overhyped, and downright unnecessary. blockchain? a convoluted mess, sold as revolutionary but really it is a slow and expensive way to launder money
web3? a money bag dream for tech bros who think decentralisation will solve all the world's problems, most of "web3 startups" are just websites that are hosted on someone server because decentralisation cannot provide enough power, imagine each of your devices hosting and serving tens of thousands of people of several social media apps simultaneously.
iot? everything's gotta be "smart" now, but really it's just more points of failure, more things that can be hacked.
ar? just a gimmick, another layer of digital noise over reality. facial recognition? a dystopian nightmare, surveilling every move you make, invading privacy like nothing before.
streaming services? they trap you in endless subnoscriptions and kill physical media. You don't own music and films and games and devices (like the thing by spotify) you pay for and it can be lost forever or shut off when corporate decides so.
cloud computing? just a fancy way to lose control over your own data, putting everything in someone else's hands.
big data? an excuse for companies to track every tiny detail about you, selling your habits and preferences to the highest bidder.
almost any device sold after 2010? overpriced, over-engineered, designed to break down just after the warranty expires, forcing you to buy the latest model. it's all just a scam, a way to keep you hooked on an endless cycle of upgrades, subnoscriptions, and surveillance.
you wouldn't need a new macbook or a phone if each and every app or website would at least put some thought in optimisation rather then ship something made in a week using some new web framework
