Trotz and spite (and malgré, something like "bad towards"). The idea that just because you do something despite XYZ, you do it to spite XYZ.
You could say "regardless of..." (German "ungeachtet, obschon, obwonl...", Fr. "bien que, quoique,...") but (be it inadvertently or deliberately) you choose violence😈
