It should go without saying: do not add a bot to your channel except if you're SURE it's safe.
At the moment, people are being socially engineered to add a bot to their channel. In the best case the bot is just for spam. But there's also much more nefarious purposes such as doxxing and outing people.
As a channel admin, YOU are responsible for the safety of your channel. It's good practice to share major changes like changing admins and especially adding bots.
