So the Spanish conquered South America but they didn't ride around and kill and root out all the demonic entities there like they did in Europe. Human sacrifice was the norm for millenia and that was ended not too long ago. The demons there were always associated with maize harvests. Maize (corn) is an interesting food in that the human body can't digest a lot of what's in it. The more you eat of it the hungrier you get (exact opposite of Christ's Bread of Life). Syrup made from it is sweet but rots you from the inside out. In the modern world, multinational powers are conspiring to put corn syrup in our food, in gasoline, in literally everything they touch so we are forced to eat it like it's some kind of black sacrament (it is).
