🇧🇷🚩💸🚜 — After Lula pledges funds abroad, BNDES suspends rural credit; measure may affect rural producers
Days after President Lula promised to use the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) to finance works abroad, such as the Argentine gas pipeline, BNDES suspended financing and contracting requests for the 2022/2023 agricultural year.
The interruption occurred on the afternoon of this Monday (07). The credit line was frozen, started operating again and, in less than a week, was suspended again. Investment lines of the national program to strengthen family farming, Pronaf Investimento, were also suspended.
