After being reformulated in the Lula government, the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) will monitor “extremist groups on social networks”. The objective is to anticipate “attacks on democracy”. The alleged financiers of groups that are spreading “hate speech” will receive special attention from Abin.
From now on, Abin will address various topics it deems relevant, including “global warming, deforestation in the Amazon, attacks on native peoples, illegal mining and even environmental threats to soy plantations”.
