🇧🇷⚖️📃🚩 — Alexandre de Moraes (STF) has ordered the inclusion of journalist Oswaldo Eustáquio in Interpol's red notice list. The decision, if carried out, will make the journalist an international fugitive.
The red notice issued by Moraes aims to establish cooperation between countries to locate and provisionally arrest individuals wanted by the law.
In the ruling, the judge states that "Oswaldo Eustáquio Filho is a fugitive in Paraguay, where he has allegedly sought political asylum. In this scenario, as the legal status of the individual in that country is uncertain, we cannot agree with the Federal Police's request to proceed with his extradition. However, including him in the red notice list is appropriate to prevent Oswaldo Eustáquio Filho from traveling to other countries and evading capture."
The journalist left Brazil shortly after the 2022 elections out of fear of being arrested again, after having been detained in 2020 and 2021. Shortly after his departure, Moraes ordered his new preventive arrest, while Eustáquio considers himself a "political refugee" in Paraguay.
