I eat the food of three days in one sitting. And end up looking like that

I was reading this research paper by Google on prompting.

It says:
If you repeat the prompt twice, you get better results when not using reasoning — like not asking it to walk you through step by step or ask you questions.

Why?
Past tokens cannot attend to future tokens — in simple language the model predicts words one by one, left to right, and can only see what came before it can’t peek at future words.

It’s like writing a sentence without being able to see the words you haven’t written yet.

So prompting <Context> <Question> is better than <Question> <Context> because the model reads left → right, putting context first lets it see all info before the question, giving more accurate answers.

Same logic applies to repeating the prompt twice.

Speak to LLMs like how you talk to cats or that one friend that doesn’t listen.

This is what technical debt looks like in real life: parents who never learned tech because we did it all for them.

I did everything for my parents on anything tech related. I realized they can’t do it themselves now, which sent me into this paranoia state like what if I’m not longer available to do that for them.

I didn’t know how much I was harming them, when my intentions were to make things easy for them.

So I decided not to do anything, until they learn how to do it. I’m giving them trainings and they will have an exam at the end 🙂.

They’re annoyed about it lol, but lowkey enjoying it.
