I want to clarify with regards to my understanding of the situation associated with Prigozhin.
Unlike manydeluded researchers in offices experts who believe that Prigozhin made some kind of demarche against the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and in their person against Putin, I don’t think so. I consider Prigozhin to be a character completely controlled by Putin. I also believe that Putin is considering him as a successor.
Why, would you ask?
1) Prigozhin was close to Putin and his subordinate for a long time.
2) His PMC is supervised by a high ranking GRU officer.
3) He still has the opportunity to recruit new recruits into the ranks of his company.
4) The activities of his PMC abroad are still going on, and this is impossible without the permission of the high ranking GRU officer who supervises his PMC.
5) Accordingly, based on the previous information given, financial capabilities of PMC are still high.
6) Prigozhin openly announced that he would run for the presidency of the Russian Federation in the next elections.
Russia, having entered the war with Ukraine, is experiencing an acute crisis. Apparently, the Kremlin decided that only a tyrant like Stalin could save their empire from collapse. By the way, Prigozhin openly sympathizes with the methods of the communist dictator. He, is exactly the man, whom without a twinge of conscience, will kill and send millions to the Gulag. What actually happened is, 50~% of the forces that were meant to invade northen territories of Ukraine were destroyed, speaking for vehicles. Most of professional contractors were eliminated, replaced by connoscripts and those in reserve. Surovikin and Gerasimov convinced Shoigu to withdraw, and follow original invasion plan made by FSB in the beginning of 2021 (Taking 8 oblasts, mostly being part of fictional "Novorosiya" + Crimea).
Yes, if the Russian Ministry of Defense and Putin followed FSB plan, we would've seen that one magical encirclement of Donbas combat area and capture of Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia. The remaining parts of Ukraine, without direct acess to the sea, would become economical colonies of Russia, following Georgia's example. Why this did not happen, you would ask? Putin had ambitious plan for his 70th birthday and 100th anniversary of USSR's creation, to capture Kyiv and Ukraine as whole, and re-create the USSR by end of 2022, formally annexing Ukraine & Belarus.
