A terrorist bombing attack in Pakistan's southern Balochistan province on April 21 just targeted the hotel where China's ambassador was staying, narrowly missing him.
This incident is very important geopolitically, and should be getting more attention. It also shines light on why Western governments and corporate media outlets have been so obsessed with China's Xinjiang region and its Uighur community.
They are desperate to disrupt China's massive Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which will rebuild the Silk Road and fundamentally shift the center of the global economy back to Asia.
Beijing has a multibillion-dollar project called the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is a key part of the Belt and Road, and will transform trade by linking China's western Xinjiang province with Pakistan's southern Gwadar port, which is located in Balochistan.
The deep importance of CPEC and the Xinjiang-Gwadar trade route has made it a top target of terrorist attacks in Pakistan, especially Balochistan.
