Leftists have been so "high on their own supply" for so long in this age of the pandemic, which benefits them amazingly, that they've failed to realize that people are voting with their feet. They are scrapping for other alternatives, given the public schools' failures to reflect their values and to care for the mental health of their children and to actually educate. That's another thing: the failing public schools' failure to teach is an ongoing problem. Who needs this?

The twelve propositions given here express some of the ideas that are advanced or assumed again and again in connection with episodes of quick, fear-driven policymaking—events whose long-term consequences are often counterproductive.
1. Nothing like the present situation has ever happened before.
2. Unless the government intervenes, the situation will get worse and worse.
3. Today is all-important; we must act immediately.
4. Government officials know or can quickly discover how to remedy the problem.
5. We may safely rely on the establishment and on its insiders for expertise in this crisis.
6. We may trust the government to act responsibly and effectively on the basis of the expertise they command.
7. The clear benefits of quick government action may be assumed to outweigh its costs and its actual or potential negative consequences.
8. Fact finding, deliberation, study, and debate are too time-consuming and must be forgone in favor of immediate action.
9. Existing structures and incumbent firms must be preserved; new structures and firms are unthinkable.
10. If a policy is not getting the results its proponents promised, more money should be poured into it until it finally “works.”
11. We must not be deterred by the accumulation of public debt; there is no practical limit to the amount the government may safely borrow.

Total US births are collapsing and likely to continue falling significantly further over the coming decade(s). However, this isn't our first rodeo...as total births collapsed during the 1960's 'til early '80's...almost inexplicably against a fast growing childbearing population. And now, since 2007 (and not just a C-virus one off), total births have again collapsed against a growing childbearing population. I will make the case that much of this comes back to the Federal Reserve's policies to foment stagflation/inflation which have created the birth dearth(s). Young adults (potential parents), like the canary in the coalmine, are among the most economically vulnerable to the Fed fueled asset inflation (with lagging pay increases and little to no assets riding the bubble, at least partially offsetting the rising costs of living). Their determination to delay marriage and children is the ultimate barometer of the US economic wellbeing.
All of the trends in place to push births lower are accelerating. Whether this is intentional or de facto, I can't say...but the outcome of collapsing US (and worldwide) births is clear.

Explanation: What happens if a star gets too close to a black hole? The black hole can rip it apart -- but how? It's not the high gravitational attraction itself that's the problem -- it's the difference in gravitational pull across the star that creates the destruction. In the featured animated video illustrating this disintegration, you first see a star approaching the black hole. Increasing in orbital speed, the star's outer atmosphere is ripped away during closest approach. Much of the star's atmosphere disperses into deep space, but some continues to orbit the black hole and forms an accretion disk. The animation then takes you into the accretion disk while looking toward the black hole. Including the strange visual effects of gravitational lensing, you can even see the far side of the disk. Finally, you look along one of the jets being expelled along the spin axis. Theoretical models indicate that these jets not only expel energetic gas, but create energetic neutrinos -- one of which may have been seen recently on Earth.

RARE V-SHAPED SUN HALO: You don't see this every day, especially not in Florida. On April 23rd, a pair of glowing V's appeared above the setting sun, both caused by ice crystals in the air. Dan Gore photographed them from Viera, FL:

"They lingered for about 5 minutes, then they were gone," says Gore. "It was a beautiful sight."
These are sun halos, one rare and one common. The lower 'V' is a common upper tangent arc created by sunlight shining through pencil-shaped ice crystals. The upper 'V' is a rare Parry arc created by similar kinds of ice crystals, but... To make the Parry arc, the crystals had to be horizontal, not rotate, and have two faces horizontal, too. It sounds improbable, and it is. That's why the Parry arc is so rare.
What's all this ice doing in Florida air? The crystals were located in cirrus clouds 5 to 10 km above the ground where the air is always freezing--even in Florida. Parry arcs prefer cold climates, but they can appear in the Sunshine State, too.
